I started working here with zero experience and a good attitude and aptitude to get involved. Over the years I worked with some excellent supervisors, excellent training, and a really great team of peers.  While my raises were excellent and did reflect my increased knowledge and contributions over the years, it was insulting to know I was underpaid in comparison to peers who used their experience to produce less by taking. advantage of unaware clients and stakeholders, gaming the system and basically  creating more work for people who were eager and willing.  Bad examples were set by not respecting and acknowledging  good leadership and effective contributions and over time it wore down morale to a point the incentive was to stick to what you know rather than to keep learning. The incentive should have been focused on finding more ways for people to collaborate and to be effective individually and as a whole.  The people here were a really great fun team to work with and the experience to gain is unparalleled if you are eager to get involved.  The employer was really good with integration of staff and how jobs were scheduled and run. Some of the best people I have ever worked for or with were part of my experience here.  I am really glad to have the experience and training here but also see my biggest regret as making my work contributions such a high priority. There were opportunities for advancement and experience but set a bad example by compensating and rewarding benchwarmers as athletes and making the valuable people compete for the remaining resources.  Integrity is also important, I wouldn't exactly be able to guess what they trade that in for from time to time but the effects present themselves at inopportune moments.  The work will toughen most people up and there is experience to gain anywhere you look from being a part of any of it. The resources they provide to get the job done are among the industry best practices and standards. This company is a great opportunity to learn and grow. The culture was great and really my biggest problem was trying to compete with people that really not interested in the same recognition I was after. The difference between compensation if the people trying to impress and the people just holding the line is what made me thing management was out of touch and setting the wrong example.  In heindsight it really let me know I was worth more than what I was being compensated.  

I would recommend this company to anyone to work, and would encourage to be an active and engaged employee. If things are dialed in right it is a rewarding experience overall and hopefully the the company is attentive to this.



I worked as an administrative staff member with years of experience and took real pride in the work I did. Despite that, I was abruptly let go under the excuse of a “shortage of work.” This came shortly after I had been open about personal medical matters and just days after the company provided a letter of employment for my home purchase. The timing and reasoning were beyond disappointing, they were insulting. The claim of a shortage of work was especially shocking given the reality of the situation. I handled a significant portion of the company’s collections. The business’ were owed an incredible amount of money, and I was actively managing those accounts. There was no genuine shortage of work; it felt like a convenient excuse.
My office wasn’t the company’s head location, and it was clear the decision came from management there. It felt like a “we protect our own” environment, where loyalty and fairness only extended to those connected to the main office. This was felt throughout my work tenure. The entire situation was handled with zero transparency or empathy, and it reflected very poorly on the company’s leadership. I worked hard, cared deeply about my role, and expected honesty and respect in return. Instead, I was met with excuses and poor treatment. This experience left me with serious doubts about the company’s integrity and how it values its employees when it truly counts.

Typical 8-5, Monday to Friday though some flexibility due to different jobs and completion times, or multiple jobs in a day.
Had to be on call 24/7 one every 2 months or so for a week (stressful).
Management needs improvement though it is privately owned.
Fairly low stress between coworkers with some exceptions.
Constantly changing jobs due to demand: from simple demolition to full rebuilds.
Lots of travel though mostly local.
Most enjoyable was being on the construction and finishing end as there is lots to learn and do, plus its generally the cleaner side of the job.
Least enjoyable can be at the start of some jobs, example some are sewer backups and some people's houses maybe in deplorable condition (or combination of both).

Terrible company who actually think that they are good at what they do.  They will tell you that there is tons of work available and that overtime opportunities are huge but will restrict it when it comes up.   They would rather send you back to the job the next day which could mean 2 hours spent when an extra 30 mins on the job would have gotten it done.

They expect you to bring your own tools and wont compensate for anything.  This was never talked about in the interview.  The vehicles they provide are not in any way safe.  Many have missing or damaged mirrors and would never pass a vehicle inspection.  If you question this then you get a "it is what it is" response from everyone.

They have a few good employees but the rest are incredibly lazy and love to use the phrase " good enough".   

They only stay in business due to the well know company name as its nation wide.   This Branch however is very poorly run.

Management has promoted useless people into high management and the people who actually do the work; get paid below average. 

They had promised  advancement but the ever revolving door has new person in that management, every year. The  those people hire their friends and are making up positions for them.  

They give out raises to brand new people in their first year of restoration, having people go past the cap for their position but then tell senior employees they don’t have room for raises for them. 

Working as a PMA at ServiceMaster Fraser Valley has its challenges, as it is a fast-paced, demanding industry to work in, but it is also can be rewarding.  The Owners/Managers are very pleasant, understanding and fair.  They, of course, expect you to work hard, but show their appreciation in many ways (lake days, lunches, snacks, etc.)  Everyone works together as a team and they have fun team building exercises, and employee meetings to keep everyone in the loop.  Overall, I wouldn't hesitate recommending ServiceMaster as an employer.

-You must deal with customers that are at their worst due to the nature of the business.
-Expect to be on call for one week of the month Including holidays
-Underpaid for the responsibility you are given
-be prepared to work in filthy conditions
-Don’t expect regular raises And if you do get a raise, it won’t be much.
-Winters are busy summers are slow
-most employees are not happy here
-it’s a thankless job

Not the greatest place to work.   Didn't offer many incentives to keep people there.   Lower then average industry wages.  Jobs take forever to get completely finished.   You may work on a job for a few hours.  Or a week.  Finish part of it.  Then go back a few weeks later and do a couple hours work.   Dirty dusty dealing with natural disasters raw sewage.    Don't volunteer for any type of trauma training.  It's refered to as trauma because it's very traumatic as to what has happened.   Ie accident clean up.  Or worse.

Nice experience, they make you feel at home, nice pay as well, but time to continue growing

Nothing just go and work do not make friends and you will be ok

Lot of people from different countries that make you learn a lot just follow the rules and everything else is fine 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
They assign the schedule in advance that make everything way easier

I would not recommend working for this restoration company. The management is weak and unable to address any issues, which creates a toxic environment. There were clear cliques of mean-spirited individuals, and bullying was rampant. It felt like the company prioritized favoritism over fairness, and employees were left feeling unvalued. Overall, it’s a place where the work culture is unhealthy, and employee well-being is not a priority.
