With new management, Shaw employees are now extremely fortunate to have supportive leaders who are invested in your career development and encourage a collaborative environment. 

Management has an open door policy, concerns are heard and addressed promptly and appropriately. 

Business is booming and digital advancement moves very quickly. Teams are always growing and the amount of good change I’ve seen in the last year and a half has made a very positive outlook for the employees. 

The lab is very busy and like all labs, deadlines are tight but there is so much support from senior technicians and management that everything is manageable in the end. If you need help, and you ask, you’ll get it. 

The company has a goal of improving work life balance, even at the cost of the company spending more money. In the past, management didn’t care if you worked until midnight every day, and sacrificed your health and well being to get something done. 

Very grateful for the opportunities and growth I’ve found at Shaw Lab Group. I can’t imagine a better lab to be at. 

The people were nice, but the work was overwhelming, and the pay didn’t match the effort. Management only cared about the numbers you produced. They tracked how many minutes it took to complete tasks and set rigid production targets for an 8 hour shift based on that calculation. Our 30-minute unpaid lunch break was also monitored. Even when we were short-staffed and working overtime almost daily, they still expected everything to get done at any and all costs. Turnover was so high, and all the extra work fell on us. Those unable to absorb the additional responsibilities often received unfavourable performance reviews, directly impacting their eligibility for a raise (if any were granted). Their expectations were completely unrealistic. Everyone who left said the same thing: the grass is greener anywhere else.

Job security is never in question. Management always gives you the attention and support needed to function in a department and as a team. Lots of social events to get to know and mingle with other coworkers. Lots of opportunities to grow in different aspects of the field. Shaw is always at the fore-front of cutting edge technology in the Dental Technology industry. Monday to Friday workdays and positive work/life balance is promoted. I enjoyed the work culture and the people that I worked with who always had positive attitudes!

the most enjoyable part of the job in this lab is no press, everyone can ask about anything and will find open ears for your suggestions, everything is easy and you can find.  

As a current employee of Shaw, I rarely write reviews, acknowledging that they often reflect one-sided perspectives. However, a recent negative review caught my attention, and I felt it was unfair as it is not a true perspective of our lab but that of someone who is frustrated.
Shaw is a great place that really cares about us and always focuses on keeping the work culture upbeat and positive. Employee engagement is a priority here; our opinions matter, and it is not just collected but acted upon. There are many benefits that are geared towards employee happiness, and I am proud to be part of the Shaw team.


I worked at Shaw for a few weeks. The day goes by fairly quick, it's busy but the support in the CSR department is far from stellar. Management doesn't even say good morning. Co-workers were somewhat supportive and offered help. But the expectations are high. Management in that area is  not supportive, caddy, and focus on micromanaging. The hours are more than 8hrs, and they don't even pay for your lunch. It was an experience, but the turnover is crazy in that place. They need to address that, because that will keep happening. It;s always in customer service.

I rarely write reviews, but this place is not good to work or even built a career as work environment is not good people there just want to be judging others if something goes wrong because of their bad operating procedures and they keep on changing things everyday and making you more stressed instead of working as a team, also is not the place to build a professional career as management only cares about their own benefits and making money they don’t support employees and on top of that they expect you to be doing not just your work tasks  but other employees as well for low payment. 

At Shaw lab, you will feel like a family. This is an incredibly communicative laboratory, any question is solved in an instant, with a high and professional approach. Working here, you can get high and unlimited experience. It's worth staying here for a while and you feel the positive spirit in the air, which makes you want to stay. I left a great experience with Shaw Lab Group, unfortunately I had to move to another country. Only the best feelings from Shaw!

Management prioritizes the product output but not the employees and gets frustrated that absenteeism and turnover are high. Departments usually celebrate birthdays and they have a lot of food giving events which is nice but management is well aware of the staff members who are rude and bully other members and they don’t do anything about it because they believe those staff contribute a lot. 

Job was alright, a little too fast paced and not competitive enough in pay for what is expected, compared to other jobs. 

Location is absolutely a nightmare to get to if you drive. It’s at 401 and Dufferin right beside Yorkdale. The traffic is always horrible there and you will be sitting in stop and go traffic for hours every day.
