What is the best part of working at the company?
I worked with knowledgeable and seasoned electricians / instrumentation.  Team Work and Safety was always a standard.  .  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Communication problems between Project Managers and the Supervisors.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work Environment was good until we got a Supervisor that needed education in managing employees.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very organized until we got a supervisor that needed people management skills.

I recently had a phone interview with Shermco Industries.  The phone interview, in my mind, went extremely well. At the end of the interview, I was promised that I would have a face-to-face interview the following week. By Wednesday, I didn't hear from Shermco, so I emailed the HR department on the status of them doing interviews.  I received no response.  Several days later, I called them but only got voicemail, which I left a message.  I haven't received a returned phone call.

For a company that displays the logo, 100 top employers to work for in Saskatchewan", treating potential employs this was is unacceptable.

You are less then a number working here, as a locator here you are treated like dirt from management also your wage vs work is honestly appalling, if you're looking to start locating you get the absolute bare minimum training on how to locate then you're on your own which I personally recommend continuing to look for work elsewhere.

This company will work you to the bone with no compensation. Slave all summer and the pay isnt worth missing your social life. You will be on call with no inscentive or stand by time. The management team is pathetic, no communication no team moral. No appreciation for long term loyal employees. Over all a HORRIBLE work atmosphere. ZERO safety standards. I will never work for this company again.

Company expects you to work long hrs for a minimal wage, along with being on call with 24 hrs a day with no extra benefit and everyone is in it for themselves. Field Supervisors get to sit at home and clean thier house for thier family well in the summer you are working 12-14 hrs a day with no lunch and no compensation for working through it. 

Do not take salary as they will boot you to the curb when work becomes slow in the winter. Inless it is a benefit to them!!

Shermco is a decent place to work. Mostly good staff to work with and the electrical engineer is very intelligent who works on the tools as well. Lots of travel involved and working longer days but still get the weekends off. A few of the longer term employees seem to make it tough to get on permanently but it is what it is. Like most companies now they take you and use you, come crunch time they lay you off

Random schedules of the weeks and months

Great.  Coworkers are cool and friendly

Ok..  not too stressful.  <........ boss is cool

all in all, i thoroughly enjoyed working for this company. i learned a lot and they had a good safety culture. We had some rough patches which were mostly in the major projects side of things, but they closed that division. if you are able to be one of the local guys they treat you quite well.

Equipment to do job old and outdated. Company truck was junk. 24 hour oncall nothing for this. Only your wage if you go out. No benefits. Work 12 14 hour days 7 days a week in spring and summer slows down in late fall early winter. Then lay off.  You have 48 hours to get tickets done. One day got over 70 called in.
