Started my day by responding to emails, retrieving messages and revising errors sales reps made on quotations.  Then I would respond to distribution problems to ensure deliveries were set as planned and/or provide any documentation they lost.
I learned how to read many different reports and as always imporve my product knowledge as SHHC had their own priority vendors.
When available management was approachable or at least could offer an ear and hand in working out internal dilemmas.
My co-workers were wonderful and we had open pods as banter was necessary throughout day to sahre information or access different systems as we were limited on our computers.
The harddest part of the job was working without computers and slow response from management to correct ongoing issues.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the autonomy afforded to sales support and fact that my own knowledge, skills and abilities were shared with all and in many scenarios - put into action.

Working at Shoppers Health Centre has been a positive and rewarding experience. The workplace maintains a professional and supportive environment where teamwork and patient care are highly valued. Like any healthcare setting, busy periods can be demanding, but the experience gained is valuable and helps build confidence and adaptability. Overall, Shoppers Health Centre offers a welcoming environment with a strong focus on teamwork, professionalism, and delivering excellent patient care.

Turning on a mobile app to determine my run sheet for the day. This made going paperless more efficient and was quickly learned. Going out into the community to service or repair high end mobility equipment. At times, bringing equipment into the shop for in depth repair work.Communicating with co-workers and management any client concerns or health and safety issues. The most difficult part of the job was after hours where problem solving was key without the benefit of business hours resources. The best part of the job was meeting and interacting with interesting people and being offered the most up to date technical courses at the company's expense.  We would all also involve ourselves in the odd pot-luck lunch here and there . Over all , this was a great 15 year experience that I will always find invaluable.

Check all e-mails for emergency calls and respond in a timely manner. Learned about wheelchair and walker equipment in order to schedule service calls with the correct technician.  

Management was available as needed to aid in the solution of escalated problems with clients.  Co-workers were always ready to help in anyway to aid with ensuring clients parts and needs were met in a timely manner.

The hardest part of the job was dealing with clients who were not able to communicate.  Some were non-verbal and some did not have good language skills.

I enjoyed being able to help clients with their service problems and getting them back mobile so they could enjoy their daily life.

My over all day at work was as follows. As I get in to the building i would have to turn on all the lights unlock the doors turn on the tv, and go to the front desk where I would do all of my work from while everyone else was on the second floor. 
I would answer / direct calls to the right department, as well as maintain my own calls as a service coordinator for the lifts and elevating department. I would take at least 50 calls a day half of them being for my calls.
On top of that I would have to greet clients who are coming in for their services and direct them which way to go as well as get them coffee and what they may ask for. 
I loved working there because it was always busy and the day would go by so fast.

A typical day was invoicing clients and filing paperwork. I learned to use the UNIX program for invoicing clients.  I had no feeling of being let go until the company was bought out by another company.  I really enjoyed working with my co-workers they were great.  The only time I found it difficult at work was when they let go of all the people that were most experienced, that could answer my questions when I needed help.  The most enjoyable part was doing the Accounts Payables, making sure all the bills were being paid on time and the accounts were all up to date.

A typical day in my department consists of my co-worker and I answering phones, e-mails and faxes taking orders from customers, providing product knowledge to them as well as each other, collaborating and independently working on processing/picking orders for shipment or pick up, resolving issues and customer complaints, attending departmental meetings, suggesting new ideas/processes for company time/cost saving, posting, invoicing and filing as well as other general office duties or requests from management. We do all of this while creating and maintaining a fun, positive work environment and most importantly, helping our customers with their needs

I received a lot of satisfaction working with the people of the long term care facilities and the individuals of the community. I would deliver equipment and evaluate and fix power and manual equipment. It was fulfilling knowing that once I left the clients that I worked for was able to get on with there daily activities once I was able to correct any and all issues with there equipment. Each week that I returned many people would thank me or ask for help which I enjoyed.

They took days off away from the staff. No seniority whatsoever. No room for advancement. Managers give promotions to either their friends or to people that don't have little children. 2% raises at MOST.. IF you're lucky. Some people don't get any wage increase at all. I was verbally assaulted daily by customers. Training was lacking. When it was Shoppers Home Health Care it was a decent business to work for. When Loblaws took over it went downhill really fast. They do not appreciate their staff. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere for employment.

One of the most mismanaged workplaces I have ever been involved with. The money was decent but unless you sucked up REALLY hard you went nowhere in there and only if you knew how to pat someone on the back to know where to stick the knife were you going anywhere there. Unsafe working conditions and injuries not taken seriously nor addressed properly. They always tried to trip people up to do things that their doctor said they couldn't do to see if you were faking it and then fire you on the spot if they caught you. It was a joke really. They no longer exist and for that I am grateful
