Interesting job that could be a fantastic opportunity if you are exactly the right candidate - as well as exactly the right type of person. Any deviation from the above in exactness - take another offer should you have one available.

Some within the company (looking at management) can be very dishonest and cutthroat as the culture is one of high stress levels and isolated departments. My experience is they were only willing to be a judge without transferring knowledge or assisting in any functional way. This does not make for a good learning environment, especially to new hires jumping into to a new field in PCBA manufacturing. It also has me question the ability of a manager when they can not accomplish the goal of transferring applicable knowledge to the people under them. As though some cannot transfer knowledge - or some don't have it, and may be more suitable as administrators then managers. Their are of course wonderful people who work there and should you be with them you may have a fantastic time. I do not think they are the people with say however, as most management (not all, department specific) will not be willing to help you functionally (although they love to "help" rhetorically for 5 minutes then leave). 

Should you think this is exactly for you, wonderful, enjoy! Should you have questions as to even the nature of this business or job environment, you will find yourself very stressed here.

DO NOT recommend working here unless you actually enjoy working at a high school drama show. Management will be nice at first until first day of working there and they will expect you to know your whole position by the end of the day even though they tell you you'll get 2-4 months of training. Management/Supervisors are difficult to work for and will degrade and violate you regardless of how hard you work. Make any mistakes and it's the exit door for you. Have any health issues or feeling sick and they will drag you down and force you to work or you won't have a job, regardless of a doctor's note. Does not understand Labour Laws at all and will not care about the laws & will let you go without notice or reason. High turn over rate. Lay offs are always expected yearly.  Management/Supervisors enjoy rumour spreading. Every day of working there was stressful and horrendous working environment with no potential of promotion unless you are favourited. If only they cared more about their employees than their selfish behaviours and greed then they would have a chance of keeping employees around.

Sigmapoint has an outstanding company culture. I've yet to see another company managed to make 400+ employees actually feel like one united team as well as they have. Everybody is very friendly and the working atmosphere is light-hearted and fun - you could easily find yourself in a casual conversation with management, who are often making efforts to get feedback from employees on what they could improve. You feel heard at Sigmapoint. The company is growing very quickly, so there's plenty of opportunity to pitch in and really feel like you're making a difference - you grow with the company. I ended up extending my original contract with Sigmapoint as a result of how well I got along with the team, how valuable I felt my work was, and just how much I enjoyed the people there. Would recommend.

My work day is very structured and regimented. The people are normally happy and great to work with although like anywhere there are some exceptions. The health and safety culture is very good. Most injuries seem to be small cuts from handling components. There is not much heavy lifting. Warehouse is low traffic and always appears clean and tidy. Production workers do get moved around too much and planning for work needs improvement. The company does fun things like BBQ events and Christmas parties. It tries to make the repetitive and boring be more fun.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Its a great work atmosphere, someday are slower depending on your shift. Overall they are all helpful and kind. They will assist you and help out whenever you need. Very good company. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
All the new changes that they are trying to figure out. With these often told one thing and it will change 5 more times.

Culturally diverse and I work with great people.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work and laugh usually. Sometimes stressful parts happen but my team is super helpful and decent.

I would go in and find people smiling, most people loved there jobs. There was always something new to learn, because you would cross train all the time. The hardest part of the job I would say would be the battle of shifts. Some would blame the other shift for things done wrong instead of looking at what they did themselves. On our shift the manager would always make something every month to keep it interesting, eg. hat day, pot luck for that month. If they decide to call me back I will return right away, that is how much I loved working there.

They talk about being open to move around and do different jobs- but don’t expect anything. Takes months to do anything, theres little communication and the workplace is hot, boring and repetitive. 

My coworkers are pretty great, but the lack of communication between management doesn’t make up for it. 

Terrible management, no opportunity for growth unless you are a favourite. Under paid for the amount of responsibility thrust upon you and the high cost of the products you build.  Low morale throughout the company.  Managers are all invincible despite complaints against them.  Everything is micro managed.  Very slow periods followed by very fast ones, yearly layoffs.  Even if you're qualified for internal postings often they'll already have someone in mind rendering your hopes and effort to pursue positions pointless.

No chance of growth, they don’t promote you to any higher positions

Being stuck in one thing, even if you want to learn something new they don’t let you

Culture is not bad but people complain a lot and there’s silent racism

Its different for everyone because there are many different departments

SigmaPoint is a company that participates in the construction of technology like computers, sports gear and circuit boards. The job provided a new and fast-pace experience that challenged my skills and knowledge. My position was an operator on the surface mount production line. My co-workers and I managed the production line and the construction of circuit boards. The position was both challenging and rewarding. The SigmaPoint team is composed of energetic and devoted people who I am proud to call my friends.
