Some teams are fantastic, others not as per any company. I found this company to be a great entry level company to get your foot in the workplace, but not a company to stay in long term. High turnover, not much in the way of career development opportunity, terrible pay.  They work teams over capacity but do not have the budget to hire on enough staff to give many positions a healthy work life balance. I was one of the few where I felt there was a great work life balance, but not everyone had that or set those boundaries, so it varies from position to position. The HR leaders are very hands off, tend to share false information about a job position, and do not give a  safe environment for you to talk. So just ensure to have things in contract if you decide to work with them. all that being said, majority of the managers are fantastic at this company. Best of luck to those on the job hunt.

A typical day at work was often stressful, with constant pressure to meet targets and very little recognition for the effort employees put in. Instead of fostering motivation, this environment created burnout and frustration.
What I learned most from the experience was the importance of having a supportive leadership team and owner, something that, unfortunately, was missing here. Leadership often seemed disconnected from employees’ realities, and in many cases, people were not seen or treated as individuals. This lack of acknowledgment made it difficult to feel valued or respected in the workplace.
The hardest part of the job was dealing with the constant stress and lack of support from (PC). 
The only positive takeaway was the reminder of how crucial good leadership and genuine care for employees are to building a healthy and productive work culture.


I've worked at Silver Hills for almost 3 years now and the time has gone by in a flash! This was a 'small' family operated business that has gone on a wild growth ride over the past few years and is really changing in front of our eyes.

Sometimes it can be frustrating because there are so many things going on all the time and we're not super-good at communicating well, but everyone is well intentioned and is trying to do their best.

What I love about this place is that there are plenty of opportunities for people to grow both professionally and personally. There are lots of challenges and problems to be solved and people are generally encouraged to get involved and make contributions.

-Fast pace environment with changing priorities from management - need to be adaptive to changes and be solution-oriented 
- High turnover - not much onboard training available since everyone's hands are full. New hires need to be able to hit the ground running
- Amazing and helpful colleague 
-Communications among departments are poor - competing priorities between departments rather than being collaborative. This makes the whole organization very disorganized. 

I worked in the Finance department for a period of time. The environment in Finance is very chaotic. Everyone is over worked and there isn't a lot of time to train new employees that come onboard. I enjoyed getting to know people from other departments; however, I did not enjoy most of my time there. The company is chaotic. Makes rash decisions at a drop of a hat.

Begins with login into your laptop, get some free breads, cookies, herbal tea and fruits from the kitchen for your breakfast.

This workplace can be described as unstable and lacking in trust. Employees may feel insecure about their positions. The absence of trust among colleagues and between employees and management can lead to communication barriers and a toxic work culture. Additionally, poor management can exacerbate issues, resulting in disorganization, inefficiency, and dissatisfaction among employees. Overall, it's a challenging environment that can hinder productivity and well-being.

The bread was the best, pretty good coordination

Getting the job done before the lights went out early Friday's, off by 3 every Friday

Very friendly people, some jobs high pace

High pace and sometimes a little hectic

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far and plan to continue to grow with the company! The ownership are welcoming and present in the company, and my team is collaborative and hard working. 

At times things can be stressful, but I feel supported and know I am in the right place to grow my career!

I have been working with Silver Hills Bakery for more than three years. During this time, I have learned many new things and gained valuable experience. The staff and management are very cooperative — especially my manager and supervisor, who are always supportive and helpful. My co-workers are also very kind and work well as a team. I truly enjoyed my time at Silver Hills Bakery and would highly recommend it as a great place to work.
