Overlooking 3 yards within a 2km radius 
Ensuring loads being built and delivered in a proper manner on a daily basis.
Preparing schedules and evaluations for all employees.
Responsible for keeping a safe and clean environment for the safety of all employees daily.   
Building a teamwork environment for the benefit of the company.

Receiving stock daily and consolidating yard for easy access for customer service.
Gaining relationships with top builders in the area and making sure to keep customers pleased in every aspect.
Consulting and preparing marketing strategies to benefit the employer.
Bringing new ideas to the table to enhance business for the company.
Interviewing, hiring, and acting as H/R for all employees in the yards and helping management in the store to ensure proper procedures are followed.
Preparing weekly payroll for all workers under my supervision.
Organizing and preparing for all Home shows for marketing purposes.

Work has a boom truck operator when they first open in Sturgeon Falls.  Avoid that place unless it's another manager from when it first opened. The manager had quite the attitude.  Very poor wage has a boom truck operator.  No help at all to load your own truck . No help in the warehouse to get delivery ready.  I'm sure they have more employees now. Old boom truck. I'm a very hard worker and I had to do everything myself.  Very poor on safety. Had to walk on the boom to be able to secure my load with no help. Manager was always in is office or always gone or going home early while I was preparing my delivery for the next day. I was left at the warehouse alone often.  Avoid that place.  Worse place I ever worked at. Barrie and Bracebridge seem to have a better management and employees.  Equipment in better shape at those locations.  

This position consisted of daily interactions with customers both inside and outside the store. Simcoe Building Centre allows you to gain a great knowledge of the building material industry. There are many growth opportunities both laterally and horizontally throughout the company. This company has a very family first atmosphere since it is a family owned business.  It is very welcoming and allows you to explore and gain knowledge on the daily. Management is very helpful with their employees growth within the company ensuring they feel comfortable to speak to them and even ask questions about things they are unsure of. Simcoe Building Centre is very much a team with a strong workplace culture.

Long term current employee, love working for the owner and management. Its a family style management with little to no red tape. A little structure would be helpful in some instances but way better than corporate companies. They do frown on personal use of company resources such as kijiji surfing but thats not a problem for me. They take customer service seriously I have heard of employees getting disciplined over repeated customer complaints.  Work hours are great and fairly flexible but you can't make your own hours. On going training is a bonus. Having input on products and helping with business development is very rewarding.

This has been one of the best jobs I have ever had. The staff are so nice and friendly and I love helping the customers with their orders. I recommend working here! The company really does a lot for their staff, it’s like a little work family. This job has given me the chance to grow.  No matter what anyone says, this place it’s really amazing. I say thank you to so many who gave me this opportunity to work at this store!  :)

I worked as a laborer in the supplies yard. Besides the lack of training and effective leadership from supervisors, it was good full-time hours and wasn't hard to catch on if you can apply yourself. I can not comment on the higher-paid positions of this company and the benefits they come with. This is solely from the viewpoint of a student yard hand that was only there to put my 3-4 months in. There is a good amount of labour with this position for anyone interested in the opportunity.

I love my job!   Staff here are super friendly and are a lot of fun to work with.  Customers are respectful and kind.   The hardest part of the job so far is keeping busy in the winter- there is not as much foot traffic or phone calls in the store leading to long periods with little to do.   The most enjoyable part of the job is definitely my colleagues- they make me laugh constantly!

As a purchasing agent I was responsible of purchasing building materials as well as inventory control. Having 5 stores to look after this was a very fast paced position ensuring all stores had the necessary stock available to service their customers. I also looked after the largest account the company had, ordering special order items daily.

You get to learn a lot while working here, there are so many products to gain knowledge about. 
Management is very helpful and accommodating. They give everything the chance to learn and grow. 
The staff and the changing daily routine is what is so great about this job. Everyday is different.
