What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I don't remember seriously even a single day.

a typical day at work would involve management sitting in the office pretending to care about how the floor runs. and when something goes wrong its not management but its the labours fault that works hard all day to help meet the company's goal.

i learned to not ever work with this company and i take it as my civic duty to tell all future people who need a career to stay away. This company will manipulate you. 

Management/HR , Where do i start, hands down the worst management and HR ever. Management cares more about parts running to Honda then about the safety on the floor. God forbid you get hurt on the floor and they will make sure the nurses tell you that your ok. HR is in bed with management they will never support the floor employees , they smile and pretend like they do but they will slap you with a write up because you tripped over a bin that management advised to unsafely keep. 

Worst company morale i have ever seen. People actually hate working here but force them selves because they have families to feed. SPS = Stupid people stay

hardest part of the job is dealing with your 2 faced lying section leaders and BUM and management. 

Enjoyable part of the job was our 30min lunch which is actually 23-25mins because walking from one end of the plant to the other takes forever.

The people here are great. Very friendly, strong team environment. However, anyone in a position higher than a regular associate is awful to work with. Section leaders will tell you one thing but do the opposite, then deny that they told you anything different. You could be a model associate for years (without recognition) but the first time you do something wrong you'll be written up, no matter the severity. Also, if management is going to get in trouble for something but they can find a way to blame you, they will. I left SPS because I was tired of feeling like I was in prison. The pay is bad, the management is bad, the hours are good if you don't want to have any sort of life (by the way you have no say in that matter, if they want you to work a saturday, you're working the saturday.) This isn't a bad place to work for a few months while you look for something better, but don't expect to be a happy person working here past your 6 month hiring probation. SPS will suck the life out of you.

A typical day at work is walking in finding a mess the last shift left and a bunch a of nasty notes in different areas explaining how they were short staffed and how its really our fault from previous shifts for leaving a mess. Very repetitive and lost of heavy lifting. Equipment has worn out batteries and die while a load in 20ft in the air because management keeps blaming floor employees aren't charging them correctly so in the whole political battle equipment doesn't get fixed.  
The work place culture is horrible, management has brought the entire companie's morale to an all time low.. If you have any issues, and try to get help of HR thats another dead end, HR right away tries to tell you that its your fault. HR will never solve in issue without bringing your morale down even more and then write you up and think they solved a problem. HR will always LIE!. 
Most enjoyable part of the job is our 20min lunch breaks.

Simcoe Parts Service is 100% owned and operated by Honda.

SPS was created by Honda as a low cost labour division to offset high Honda employee wages plus offset their operating revenue
and is part of the Honda Logistics division.
SPS has and will continue to take over current Honda employee jobs a little at a time as the benefit to Honda is near half the cost in labour in some cases.
Here's the problem - SPS can't pay employees more because that defeats the purpose of why Honda created SPS in the first place.

SPS can't hire and keep enough employees because of the pay and the environment created by SPS appointed management. The employee turn over rate is in the high 80% range at last check.

It will take a new SPS employee 7 years to get to top rate which is currently $19.20. Honda top rate for long term employees is $32.00

Many people treat this place as an in between job and for others the only job they can get.

What is the best part of working at the company?
fair wages, never have to work holidays, only 2 shifts, days and evenings, 2 weeks shut down in the summer and 1 week at christmas

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to meet a quota which isn't always easy, they frown upon having to leave for appointments, or having sick days. If you injure yourself on the job, you are still expected to show up to be evaluated daily by the on staff nurse. even their modified duties require you to be on your feet for the entire shift less the breaks

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
when I was there, there were quite a few friendly staff that were willing to help you if you needed it

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
lots of heavy lifting, and you have to be aware of your surroundings at all times, there are forklifts going every which direction as well as tow buggies pulling trains of carts loaded with parts for Honda

I would not suggest this job if you end up doing walking/standing jobs all day that's not on equipment due to constant standing and walking on concrete, which is very bad for your body and the older employees tend to be worse for wear. 
If you are doing office or equipment work and show up on time and have half a brain, you can progress into leadership rolls and have an enjoyable work experience. I am sad to go, but i would say I enjoyed my stay here overall. 
I would also stay away from people who complain non-stop, they tend to be upset with themselves and view this job as a step down and like to bring others down to feel miserable too. I'm not saying this job is amazing in anyway, but you can make any situation better if you change your attitude. I learned that a year in and there are a lot of people there who can make this job fun and entertaining. The thing I will miss most is all the friends I made there.

The job itself was very enjoyable for me. Focused on organization, meeting tight deadlines, and ensuring safety. However, the internal politics and decision making was not something i could always agree with. People expect to get paid for working, they expect to get paid the proper amount and on time. There were far too many instances where that did not take place. If you didnt have a strong voice you would get pushed under the rug. The ability to handle internal harassment from employees who had been there longer than myself and others was poor.

We worked here for a solid year. In that year i was a referral and my friend never got the referral bonus. They told us we would get a eaise after certain months and that never happened untill a year anniversary which was a less than a dollar raise. We almost got killed many times due to very poor driving skills from forklift drivers. Someone actually got airlifted to the hospital due to an accident. In the 2018 year. Management is a joke. If you dont do as they say they switch you around. Its a very repetitive job. There are groups of people who gang up against you if they dont like you. They make it harder for you.  It a high school atmosphere. The money isnt enough for what you do. Not a job i would recommend for someone trying to settle there for a long time. Lunch food isnt bad. Even if they give you a raise now. Trust me it isnt enough for what you'll be doing. 

Its factory work, and what's more, with no benefits, no pay and no coverage. You break your back for them for 13$ an hour and its ridiculous. A typical day is eight hours of loading and unloading trailers, moving parts and empty carts to and from the assembly line for Honda. The most enjoyable part of the job, I guess, would be the physical workout. I never ever want a desk job, I want to be up and moving around. The hardest part of the job is the sheer mind numbing repetitiveness. There is no challenge, no change. Its the same thing every day. The management is alright, they go to bat for you when it counts. My experience with everyone I worked with as a co-worker was brilliant, but we all shared the same opinion. This is a temporary paycheque to get by, not a career choice.
