I loved this job as it was very social. I got to talk to all the customers that came into the Beer Store, relay information on Sleemans products and about the beer I was sampling and then give them a sample.

I am very good at talking with customers but sometimes when a customer is shy or doesn't think they will like the taste of the beer they walk away. I learned many tactics to get the customer back in front me so that I could continue explaining to them why they would like it. By the end of it all most of the customers trusted me enough to try a sip. In most of these cases they ended up buying a case of the beer. It is all about the relationship that makes the sale.

The hardest part of the job was dealing with intoxicated individuals who came into the store and demanded free samples of beer. I would always say no and I don't want to be responsible for him getting in his car and causing an accident.

I made a lot of friends working the Sleeman Promotion. Some of them are still my friends. I am a very easy person to get a long with and love being around people.

The one thing I didn't like was how disorganized management was. I have worked for other marketing companies and have never experience anything bad with any of their management teams. I am assuming that maybe it was a tough summer because they were taking on too many projects for the staff to handle.

The best part of the job for me was the social interaction with people. Whether it was interaction with my colleagues, customers, or the beer store employees, I always had a blast!!!!

I enjoyed my job at Sleeman Breweries. My job included a variety of different daily tasks that kept me on my toes. It allowed me to learn a lot of skills that i can take to my next job. I know how to use Oracle R12, Moneris solutions, I have a knowledge in the sales department, and customer service department. I had wonderful co workers and we all helped eachother out. The hardest part of my job was managing reception duties while performing accounts receivable duties in front of customers, however i believe i was able to balance these duties the longer i was employed there. I liked being busy and efficient. I really enjoyed working with so many wonderful people and gaining relationships with customers. There is however, little room for advancement at this company and i look forward to taking what i have learned, and advancing at my next role.

An average service day at the Sleeman Center was chaos, but the fun kind. The type of chaos that challenges and pushes your skills daily. This job was a great place to learn and develop your skills as a cook and with time management. I enjoyed being asked to come in and help with special events, such as the Mayor's Christmas Party, where the menu's were more challenging and allowed some freedom for creativity. I had a lot of fun working with the new head chef and learning lots of great new tricks and skills in the kitchen. The staff and management were always very personable, friendly, and worked like a team. Definitely one of my favourite kitchens to have worked in!

a typical day would start early morning ...the first thing was to clean the equipment before the production, I was to have everything up and running by the time the clean bottles came out of the soaker (machine that washes the glass) ,now run the fast pace filler machine ,filling whatever our production was for that day, do checks and data sheets every hour or as required,, working 8 hr shifts and overtime as needed I enjoyed this job very much the coworkers and management were all great to work with ,no issues of any kind ,,also did the monthly inventory on product I lost my job after the plant closed down ..November 2013..

A typical day consists of loading and unloading of beer and materials neccesary to perform the production of beer. 
I've learned how to multi task and work in a fast paced environment, with safety as the first priority.
I work with a great crew of people who respect each other, safety and the company.
The most enjoyable part of my job is knowing Sleeman Brewries care about there employees and there well being, unfortunatly due to business decisions related to logistics they have had to make some personnel cuts.

You are disposable.  
Management has gone completely down hill, no work life balance. They say they hire internally for promotions but hire outside or “there friends” 
The team atmosphere outside of managment is like a family but unfortunately management has ruined that as well as they just want to spy on there employees. 
Your personal life will be judged
Managment will bully workers out if they stand up for themselves. Overall a very toxic work environment for a company that says they strive on “family” 

My day started at 3am or 10 am. I always got along really good with the management we were close. I worked with all kinds of different people who made the place really easy to come to. The hardest part of my job was getting up at 2am and working in very hot conditions. I've learned working there that it takes a good team of people to make a business succeed. The most enjoyable part of my job was I had a lot fun with the people I worked with and 16 years just flew by.

Good work culture. I started as Maintenance Co-op student. I came from different background so there was a steep learning curve. However, everyone around you are experts like maintenance planner, senior electrician, plumber, pipe fitter so you can get help and they are very helpful. 

When I worked at Sleeman they were transitioning their systems to amalgamate  Sleeman with the Sapporo group. There was some great talent on board but still experiencing the growing pains of combining very different organizations and leadership styles.

Employees seemed to enjoy working in the plant - beer tastings were a nice perk as well as an allotment of beer for employees to enjoy on an annual basis.

my day is busy time goes by fast, There is free coffee in lunch room which i think is a bonus, i have learned how to operate low lift and use over head crane and have been in house certificate on both have never used a scanner before this job and had a had time the first few shifts figuring out everything on the fly but with the help of coworkers i soon was on my way.they have a a great christmas party and lots of prizes etc.The most enjoyable part of my job is its close to home.
