What is the best part of working at the company?
This company has no real positive aspects when it comes to working here. Management shows little respect for employees’ experience and skills, and the treatment is consistently poor and condescending.”

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is an unrealistic amount of work expected on a daily basis. The environment is heavily micromanaged, and employees are often treated in ways that make you feel less than human.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment is hostile, and the culture of constant harassment seems to have no limits.”

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You’re expected to work extremely hard with no limits, yet the work is never finished by the end of the day. There is no overtime compensation offered and no appreciation for the effort you put in.”

I wanted to write this review as I see that there are a lot of negative comments. However, to the job seeker, please keep in mind reviews are often written about negative issues and not positive. I am currently employed at Smardt. Smardt is a faced paced environment, with changes and innovation at every turn. For those who are ambitious it is place that is constantly growing and in need of talent.  Middle management is sympathetic to the employees, supportive and doing their best make sure every employee has a voice. Upper management is remote and therefore not present in the day to day. It can be challenging, but rewarding as lessons learnt here are difficult to find elsewhere. Prior to COVID , the team had monthly soccer games and social committee would organize snacks other acttivites to keep the team spirit. It has been a Great experience for me as I would hope it would be for you. 

Management is very dysfunctional & Racist. No organization. No appreciation for your effort, your boss is always skeptical about your qualifications (they don't trust employees-I have no idea why they hire them from the first place).
Bonus are promised and never given. They keep on overcharging employees with new tasks for free (They want to get the most out of you with minimum payment).
A group of hypocrites controlling the company, all the Canadian norms & laws are disrespected & broken. They threaten the employees & disrespect them.what makes it worse is that the HR department is on the management side.
Employees are all sick & non-team players, everyone is afraid of losing his job.They are not willing to help nor share information & not even allow you to grow. It's a very toxic , unhealthy environment.
Worked there for a while & left with severe anxiety & stress.

I was there for about 3 years.  Was promised a salary increase after 6 months if they liked me, I ended up with a fraction of what they had promised.  I was promised 3 weeks vacation after the first year, which I never got as well because I was told they never give 3 weeks vacation to anyone.  I found out almost everyone that was hired after me was given 3 weeks vacation right off the bat.

 Outside of that tiny salary increase, there was basically nothing, zero performance reviews, zero advancement opportunities.  

The upper management of the company seem to be completely oblivious to everything.  Starting from their employees, to even how they run the company.  

The only good thing about the place is the people you work with, although many people are quite miserable because of the working conditions of the place.

I love the type of work, I was always moving and lifting heavy components.

I learned about chillers, sensors, transformers, ratings, and how to read schematics. Also how to manage a team of workers.

Management (supervisor and higher) needs major improvement.

I got along with all coworkers, they were very experienced and helped me learn.

The hardest part of the job was modifying without proper dimensions.

The most enjoyable part was connecting conductors.


Run as far as you can, worst company to work for. Lacks professionalism, management treats employees like they own them, zero respect. No benefits, terrible payers. Management relies on Gossips & other employee's reviews to evaluate your work instead of relying on your quality of work. Whatever you do to improve your skills & benefit the company is never recognized. No respect to immigrants & their different cultures & backgrounds (a lot of stereotyping).

Management is very disfuctional. No organization. Major disrespect for employee's. The company has good intentions but they don't work and are never approved by management. They have a good selling product. Bonus are promised and never given. Worked for this company for 4 yrs. left with a bad work experience.

Everyday there is something to do and you dont get bored, i learned a lot of assembling mechanical parts and learn how to read enginerring blue print to prepare sub assemblies for easier and faster safe work. Learn how to braze different angle of copper pipes. Very friendly work environment. Company provide uniforms for the work environment.

There are never 2 days in a row that are the same and that was the best part of the job.  I really loved talking to our customers, it felt really good to be able to get them the help that they required.  The hardest part of the job was when we where short staffed, the wok load doubled but we always got through it with a smile

Honestly, we work hard here, but the team spirit is one I've never seen elsewhere.  Everyone is so helpful and I've learned more than I have at any other company.  
I feel respected and heard here and management takes my suggestions and often implements them, giving me credit.
I feel valued and I can see a very long future here.
