-No overtime (you're expected to work 6 days a week, overtime is exempt)
-ZERO life work balance (expected 60+hr work weeks)
-Health benefits exist, but are basically worthless as $500 to spend per year is a JOKE (yeah, $500 must cover dental, vision, physio etc.) JOKE!
-Zero safety on site, people often get injured, with no pay once you're off
-No lunches, or breaks, heck, they dont even want to pay you for your return ride from site back to the yard
-Equipment/machinery is always broken, or old and needs replacing
-No cosideration of employees working out in the elements(rain, shine, snow, cold, thunder storm
-Management is in it to get the MOST out of ya for the LEAST.
-They wont think twice about hiring you to do one thing, for a cheaper salary, and sending you to work where you should be making more.

if the pool industry is for you, i suggest you try another GTA pool builder.




As a long term employee @ Solda pools not only did I learn skills on the job site but most importantly, how to grow up in the right direction with the right group of people. As a young man job security is the most important for me and 26 years later it was never an issue. In many companies I find it can be very difficult to grow as an employee, but for us here at Solda there is many doors always open to grow. Is it hard work? Yes! Its good hard work, great people, fun, sunshine, great pay and most importantly, working for a great TEAM!

During my time there, I wasn’t put on the crew/job positionI was hired for therefore didn’t enjoy everyday tasks I was given because it was not what what I applied for. The older gentlemen I was placed with expected me to know what I was doing with little supervision and would become frustrated when I asked questions or for advice. On top of that, the guys would go to the beer store/LCBO on lunch hours and have a few drinks on “break” while you were expected to keep working. The one plus side was the money was great and the pay was weekly.

I learned a lot of what I know from Solda Pools. Great company to work for, they give you lots of responsibility and want you to succeed and grow. Pay is great, pay is every week, bbqs are good, coworkers are amazing, bosses are good mentors however they are of the old school mentality where they yell a lot. Would have stayed here but work was too far.

No resume needed just an ekg! Over time is time and a quarter, only to be paid if you work Saturday. Benefits are available but are not good, 500 to share between your teeth, boots or chiropractor. Minimum 10 hour days most of the time without break. No standards for quality, only rewards for the  employees with poor workmanship or get the job done as fast as possible. Job security is based on how much you kiss up to management. 

I began my career at Solda with little to no experience in the construction industry. Through my years at Solda, staff and management have been outstanding in providing advice, knowledge and training to work safely, and successfully.  At this point I am proficient with every facet from start to finish of our projects.

Typical day you get your day's work in the morning, pack up your truck with whatever you may need to accomplish the work, could be anything from repaing something to cleaning the pool.
You then leave the yard and pick the order you want to do your jobs.
Provided they are all done you do the same thing the next day.

You will learn a lot. Don’t ask for anything, a long serving co-worker will just talk you out of it. You need a thick skin and able to handle a hectic environment.

The job is not that complicated at all. Depending what department you work for it is a very easy job to learn. The hours are long and the job is back braking though. They will work you to the bone and then get rid of you when you are no longer profitable to them.

Was a very hard working company and always got the job done on time. Long hours but well worth the experience. Always did the job right and always cleaned up before leaving the job site
