I worked here for an extremely long time. Used to be good, now all down hill. When I started, I had no training, from what I can see it’s still the same, you either know it or you don’t and this left a lot of my new co workers feeling overwhelmed as I did more than required me by trying to train them and teach them. You’re always watched on cameras. Don’t stand by the table for more than 20 seconds otherwise the owner will be calling you on the work phone telling you to get to work (even when the store is empty) Also, lots of difficult customers, which is expected, but it’s not a job for the weak  .I dealt with bleeding feet, scabbing feet, dead parts of feet, peeling feet, and so forth . For minimum wage, so think about if that’s what you really want.  Lots of people in wheel chairs, people with inserts, whiny people, emotional people, like mentioned, not a job for the weak  if you don’t think you can handle these customers + a psychotic owner, better look for something else. work is work but for minimum wage this job was brutal. don’t bother “trying” or “impressing” managers. no one there cares. they hate your life as much as you do.

High demand retail store, with an excellent team. Pay is minimum wage, schedule is flexible.  No health benefits. 

No training or product knowledge supplied. You sink or swim, and there's a lot to learn. 

Owner is a very hard read, and makes things stressful. Expects the world from employees he hasn't trained at all. Can be very hot and cold. It impacts staff morale and performance when he's having a bad day. He discourages staff building rapport with customers, so that they can focus on only sales. This causes customers to become hesitant, and sales are lost as a result. 

Chain would benefit from the owner hiring an operations manager to deal with staffing.

There is no training for anything in this place, it is a sink or swim environment. Don't bother asking for a raise, there are no pay raises. The pay wage is minimum wage and if you are lucky you only get a little above minimum wage if you have experience. Don't bother calling in sick, no one  is willing to cover you.  Managers save themselves. It can get super overwhelming if it is busy at night and your are working by yourself and trying to close the store. The store owner is rude and condescending and workplace culture does not exist here.  Customers are the only best part of this job.

I started my career in Canada with Abdul & Elizabeth, the founders of the company. Today, they are like family to me. The learning opportunities are immense here & also the work life balance is good. Pay scale depends on your overall experience & not just Canadian experience (which is a good thing considering I moved from India with 0 Canadian experience). You are the owner of your job responsibilities & there is nomicro-management

I will say when I started at first, I did like it there. But as time went on, it slowly started going downhill. 

I could barely take time off as a part-time employee and didn't get a raise for the years I was working there.

Sometimes it was hard dealing with angry customers but that is not something you can control when it comes to retail. 

The management team wasn't always the nicest and couldn't do anything without being watched at all times

Overall, I'd look elsewhere for a job.


Enjoy working here, lots to learn and do. Easy to move up into management if you want it and show your worth it. my salary was well earned and management above me rewards company sales and organization above all else. 

Personally i enjoy the quick pace, this way time doesn't stand still at work. 

definitely recommend working here so long as you are fast paced and enjoy working with people! 

Awesome place to work from management down to sales staff. Everyone helps everyone and no one is there to be cut throat. Best thing I ever heard being there is "We assist, we dont insist". Busy enough to not feel like you have to shove shoes down peoples throat, really love working here. 

people are friendly.  has many long time staff and long time managers.
needs better communication but over all a positive place to work and grow into management as the owner typically advances from within.

Solid group of good people, and a chance to do something where customers feels grateful. A bit chaotic in terms of direction and management, but overall was good.
