Run , don’t walk away. 
The air quality is the worst. 
The workers washroom , change room and lunchroom are disgustingly dirty and nobody seems to mind. 
The office washroom and lunchroom.....clean. 
The coworkers are mostly miserable. Everyone talks dirt about everyone. The money is just ok.  
You’ll work a 10 hour shift with only a 30 minute break. Your coworkers with seniority will treat you like dirt - yell and swear at you without any real issue from the managers. The workplace is way too small for the work that’s being done so you’ll constantly be moving stock from place to place all day long. Getting in each other’s way and blocking others work causes animosity and arguments daily between the workers. I only worked there for a short time but I could see the misery and frustration in the other workers eyes. It’s a sad , sad place to be. 
If you like working in a dusty dirty dungeon you’ll love this place. 
With so many jobs out there for the same money - save your  time - your lungs and your long term health and just keep looking.

very clean place to work good peple to work too.Everyone is very friendly and expirience to do there jobs like my self.That job wath i was duing i'am going to miss.my typical day of work was that i loved wath i was duing at my job. I learn more than i could ever now this place give me a lot's of nolage and exp at the same time.Also wath i learn is that all my machines that i work at give me a expirience.About management very good people to work with i never had any problems with them at all. My co-workers loved every one of them exelent people to work with.The hardest part of my job will be a new products like new trials to run on laminators to give a costumer the best quality of this product that will be the hardest job chalange.The enjoyable part of my job will be to run my laminator machines and give my company 100- percent to rich a goals and at the end of my day to be proud wath i do that is the best day's of my job. In one word to explain this compamy is to work there like i did.

The people you work with was great on both sides of management and union employees.

12 hour continental night and day shifts that roll through a weekend.

Very good on both sides. Some departments are a little better than others.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It changes all the time. Depending on what grade you are running and if it is running well or not.

Opportunity for growth 
Training programs and values exceed expectations.

Shift work. Work life balance. 


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Safety is a top priority.  The culture is very good.  Recognition  is awarded to the employees.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy but fun. Collaborative atmosphere.

Paper mill also called a rumor mill.  Paid very well for the skill and ability required to do tasks here, good benefits, profit sharing, safety bonus and penision plan.  Non - union, so no job security - walk you to the door when they want.  Favouritizm very visible here.  Status quo - do not think you can change anything here.  Like i said, do your job and go home.  Safety is Key to working here, can be terminated immediately for not being safe.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Having a retirement pension. It was a favoritism type of atmosphere .

Trying to get equal treatment

Clicky. If you were related to management or retired management you got prefential treatment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Long and physically demanding . Breaks are only taken during down time

Worked for Sonoco after an acquisition of another leading company.  Enjoyed my time there.  It was hard work, but very rewarding, and if you worked hard you received recognition for it.  If there was a location closer to where I live I would consider working there again.

I enjoy working with all of my associates. Management is very supportive of any additional training required. They are also open to discuss any progressive ideas and will suggest any further contacts to reach out to to help support your ideas.
What I enjoyed the most is being trusted to work independently to achieve a satisfied customer and a further return on business.

I enjoyed my job at Sonoco. I got along well with others and management was good. I learned that everyone is different and patience is needed for some situations. The hardest part of my job was when I could not get the machine running. The best part of my job was knowing that I always gave 100% and put out the best possible product.

Sales are down at Chatham plant, so only a minimum number of salaried employees. Only five people in office area, all busy with different things, no socialization or support. Felt isolated in my role. The work itself was good and able to be finished in regular hours except at month end.  Little money spent on “support staff” and office area - old and dreary offices.
