What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
This was one of the worst and most concerning workplaces I’ve ever experienced.

While working here, I witnessed a serious equipment-related incident that posed a clear safety risk. I reported it to multiple supervisors expecting immediate action. Instead, nothing meaningful was done. The machine continued to be used for multiple shifts before it was properly addressed, and I was directly told to stay quiet about it. That response alone made it clear that safety was not being treated as a priority.

In my experience, production consistently came before employee well-being. Concerns raised by workers did not feel taken seriously, and there was a strong sense that speaking up could put you in a difficult position rather than lead to solutions.

The turnover rate was extremely high. I worked there for about a year, and by the time I left, only a small number of employees had more seniority than I did. That kind of turnover speaks volumes about the work environment.

Management often felt disconnected from frontline realities. Decisions didn’t always seem transparent, and at times it appeared that protecting internal image mattered more than addressing real issues. I also saw contractors brought in while existing employees were moved into less desirable roles, creating a sense of instability and replaceability.

Overall, my experience left me with serious concerns about workplace culture, communication, and how safety issues are handled. I would strongly encourage anyone considering employment here to ask detailed questions about safety protocols, reporting processes, and employee retention before making a decision.

**Typical Day at Work:**
A typical day at work involves reviewing and responding to requests from users, handling various tasks like answering questions, providing explanations, and offering advice. I spend my time researching topics, drafting responses, and ensuring that the information I provide is accurate and helpful. Collaboration with other tools and features is also a key part of my day, helping users with a wide range of queries.

**What You Learned:**
I've learned the importance of clear communication and the ability to adapt to different needs. Each user has unique questions and challenges, so I've developed skills in quickly understanding and addressing those needs effectively. I've also learned to balance providing detailed information with being concise, depending on the context of the conversation.

**Management:**
Management in this context involves making sure that each request is handled efficiently and accurately. Prioritization is key, as I need to address time-sensitive queries while still delivering high-quality responses. Managing my time and resources well allows me to maintain a smooth workflow and ensure that users receive the support they need promptly.

Management lies and directs workers to lie to cover up incidents. Safety is a joke. Safety staff investigate incidents remotely amd are completely snowed by the lies. Theft is rampant. Tools go missing all the time and staff do cash deals for product all the time. The facility is literally falling apart. It is only a matter of time before it falls down and kills people. They regularly dump acid residue into the city storm drain system instead of proper disposal. The company and the facility are dangerous to be around. The CEO and board of directors have been informed of the conditions at the facility by several employees and have refused to make any improvements at all.

Mostly operate the wheel loaders in the storage building and they arent too bad, but they dont like you taking breaks if someone isnt available to take over. Job can be very stressful when its busy, no set breaks either, so someone has to take over your position so can eat your lunch. Can super relaxed when work is slow. Communication is not a strong suit of the people there. When they see you are good at one position there is a very good chance you will be stuck in that position unless you make it known, repeatedly, that you want to learn or be moved to another position and they are VERY slow with training. Job security is pretty great but dont expect to advance or see much in the way of pay raises.

After over 10 years with Source Energy Services, I can confidently say that the company's culture is one of the aspects I enjoy the most—and it continues to improve. The collaboration and teamwork between departments are exceptional, fostering a positive and supportive environment. Additionally, the company’s thoughtful touches, like having a game room in the office and providing fresh fruit and snacks daily, are appreciated bonuses that make a difference. These small gestures help create a welcoming atmosphere where employees feel valued and engaged.

Employees are the best part of being there, but are sadly under appreciated by senior management.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing  with management that is book smart, but experience lacking. Also dealing with head offices that are inexperienced and trust book smart.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Intelligent staff who won't question  indecisive management .

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Enjoyable with fellow staff, watching immediate manager constantly changing direction

Decent enough place to gain experience but wouldn’t recommend for long term. The pay is minimal but the work is steady. Certain individual managers are absolutely great to work for and supportive of their subordinates, however the level of general intelligence and competence falls off sharply as the management level rises. Managerial Favoritism and personal bias definitely affects employee success in any department, creating a fairly toxic work environment at any level of their Canadian operations.

The actual workers are mostly certainly why I stayed here for this long.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Running garage used wash plant and dry plant equipment forced to run due to lack of profits due to a overwhelming amount of downtime because of a lack of maintenance/care for the plants.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work culture was great when I started however some of the newer management staff have made that decline rapidly.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrive at work discover that the plant you’re running went down at 12 am and Learn night shift left it for you to figure out.

Source has a variety of tasks and jobs, from Terminals, Trucking, Production, Mining, Feild Soultions and the list goes on. Source is an amazing company to work for through and through. The company always works hard in supporting any community we work in or around, by volunteering time when the community needs it, sponsoring team/groups, being a part of fundraisers, hamper backets at Christmas time and the list goes on.
There is never a shortage in work, job security is an amazing thing to have in this economy and Source provides just that. The work culture and people are amazing, always there for you when you need anything, to help teach, guide and coach you to be the best you can be.
