The atmosphere at Southern Irrigation is positive, fast-paced and up-beat.
Southern Irrigation hires only employees who want to be there and are driven in their work. They are eager to encourage and help us when we create goals for ourselves and put in the effort for our self growth.
They even paid for a course that I was interested in, because it helped to further grow the skills needed to do my job well. 
Because it's a company that is growing fast across Canada, there is HUGE potential for inside promotions!

As a result, work is fun and I feel like my coworkers are my extended family. 

If you are willing to do your best, the managers do not micromanage - they give quite a bit of freedom to allow your personality type to work in the best way it does. 

Also, each location has a culture committee. They create fun days for the employees. For example, last year we got to go on a wine tour in Oliver, a hike, a boat cruise around Vancouver, skiing, bowling etc. :)

This place is amazing, and I have zero plans to leave; and I'm a millennial!

Since starting at Southern Irrigation my overall quality of life has improved dramatically. The leaders here are so supportive and give you all the tools you need to be successful. They also go above and beyond to make sure their employees become experts in their field. 

I have had problems with anxiety and panic attacks in my previous employments but here at Southern, since day 1, since even the interview, I have been supported and lifted up in a way I never thought could come from an employer.  

They also like to have fun. Red Deer has a basketball hoop, a ping pong table, air hockey, and soon a pool table. Also a culture committee that helps put on events outside of work for the staff. Our larger branches even have private chefs.

Best company to work for. Southern Irrigation only hires people that are A-players, which makes for a great workplace attitude and culture, regardless of your education (beyond grade 12 diploma). If you want to work with people who value working hard, who take ownership, have integrity, are team players, driven, reliable and humble, then this could be a great place for you. Southern Irrigation also provides on-the-job training and will provide other training relevant to your position if they deem it necessary. They are interested in seeing you succeed in your work and personal life, and it shows. I have never been treated better by an employer before working for Southern Irrigation.

Over hires during the summer months to keep work flow, will get rid of you at a moments notice if you don't fit the criteria of the hierarchy that they have there based on social status and what church you go to. Worked there for almost 3 years without any problems. Pulled the rug out from underneath my feet and getting rid of me for nothing. I was not the lowest man on the pole but yet still because of my social status I was removed without any hesitation. Received next to no compensation. Really disappointing in a company that promotes hiring for the long term and incentivizing hard work

I was skeptical when I first started working here because there is a focus on team and culture that didn't happen at other places I worked at. After a few years of working at Southern Irrigation I have warmed up to the culture the owners have worked hard to build and I now appreciate the focus on team building. 
There are fast pace times and slow pace times, but if you have a bad attitude, a poor work ethic or don't contribute to the positive team culture of the company then you won't last long here. Management is extremely supportive for those that want to be at Southern Irrigation and I'm grateful that I can be a part of what they are building.

At Southern Irrigation teamwork is a huge part of the job. We work hard together to make sure everything gets done well. 
The atmosphere and culture here is great, and a super fun and exciting place to work. 
New ideas and projects are introduced all the time, which keeps everyone on their toes. There's never a dull day at work. 
The management really works hard to make sure that every employee has a positive experience working here. They communicate very well with employees and listen to our thoughts and ideas as well

As a former employee with many years of experience prior to employment, I found that the importance of the visual appearance of the business was more important than the substance.
I found it quite challenging to adapt my years of experience to their program. 
My largest complaint would be the fact that there was no chance of changing the companies' ideas. No matter how good or helpful the recommendation was.
It's their way or no way. 



Southern Irrigation is a great place to have a career. The entire team is dedicated to working hard, winning as a team and wowing our customers while having fun! Personal and professional growth is encouraged and facilitated and there are many opportunities for advancement within the company. All employees are valued regardless of position. Compensation's (wages, bonus, fun outings etc) are great but the best thing is working with all of the A-Players on the team!

Southern Irrigation is a great company to work for. Hard work is expected and is fairly compensated for. The work environment is fun and provides growth to me professionally as an individual. Southern Irrigation provides many opportunities for growth with the company as it expands. The culture is one of mutual respect & fairness and is completely unique. The best part of the job for me is interacting with customers and co-workers alike in a fun, fast-paced environment.

Ownership. Decisions seem to be made without due diligence.

Considering the turn over I experienced, leads than ideal.

Left alone as a new employee to run an entire  new location.
