Job Work/Life Balance: There are always jobs to be completed, you will not have to worry about a lack of work. If you're looking for a job that gets you your 44 hours every week, look no further. Management is also very accommodating if you need time off or if you can only work on certain days of the week. The hours can be long depending on the size of the job. The majority of the work is outdoors and weather dependent but there is a lot of indoor work available on the rainy days. Depending on the job, you will spend a good amount of time on ladders (and occasionally roofs) so make sure that you aren't afraid of heights and that you have your Working at Heights certificate.

Salary/Benefits: The pay is good and it gets even better the more experience you have. Raises are very attainable. If you are a hard worker, management will notice and reward you accordingly. Always got my paycheck on time.

Job Security/Advancement: As I mentioned in this previous section, raises are given out to those that earn them. If you are a hard worker and can get along with the crew, management will want to keep you on the team. Didn't have to worry about a lack of hours or being let go.

Management: Don't have any complaints about the owner or the team leaders. They have an expectation that you will work hard and be able to get the job done in a timely fashion but they are also very approachable and accommodating to the needs of the crew. Easy to get along with.

Job Culture: Great group of people to work for and with. It doesn't matter how old you are or what your background is, as long as you have a good sense of humor, strong work ethic and a team-based mindset, you will fit right in.

Overall, the Ottawa-West location is a great place to work. I was able to learn a lot in a short period of time and I can't wait for the next season to start!


Good seasonal job granted the weather is good.
Management feeds you lies of raises after 6 weeks to get you to work for them and then when it comes time for that raise they pretend they don't know what you're talking about. 
Co-workers are great dudes, and management seems down to earth on the surface but aren't to be trusted. 
They also reused filthy work shirts/sweaters because they are too cheap to buy new ones for new employees and threaten to withhold pay if you don't return a destroyed t-shirt. 
Expect a lot of experience for terrible pay.
Job is ideal for students or young people who don't have bills to pay.

Learn how to paint with paint guns rather then brush

Working for a company that only cares for money meanwhile people within the company are
Thieves and they still keep them on board..

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s like you’re working in a restaurant. Their is no culture 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Wake up early and have your boss constantly ask you when your done

It’s a hard place to work when there’s no job security . Very high expectations from management. They expect you to work every day that it’s not raining. Driving across the city from job site to job site sometimes your 2-3hours away with traffic no compensation for your time and money.Poor management. 

Any one who works as the lead painter for spraynet Kelowna will have to move heavy ladders or do all the high masking for female workers that are getting paid nearly the same as them.   Some of them being the girlfriends of family members.

Spraynet Markham/Durham skims hours off your travel time and wants to make your overtime 55 hours.

The Ottawa West franchise is completely mismanaged and they have no clue how to run a business. There were many times when I was told to go do something that made no sense business-wise, they Hemorrhage money, you were always unsure if you were going to get paid or not and the owners have no idea how to talk to people

We would meet up at different houses each day at different locations finishing 1 house per day it was fun and I would do it all over again. You prepare the outside of the houses to be sprayed and finished by the sprayer after he is done we take down the prep work and then we got a whole new looking house.

Inconsistent hours. Getting a full time position doesn't mean you're getting 40 hours per week. They expect you to be a drone and just go where the job is. One day you stay on site till 6pm and the next you get pulled from site at 2:30. Was also fired without notice even though I worked there for at least 2 months. 

Spray-Net Ottawa West has been a great place to work.  Team environment with a great group.  Days can be long but very satisfying knowing the difference we are making.  Would highly recommend to anyone interested in seeing the tangible results of an honest days work. 

I loved working for spray-net, it was the best job I have held in my life.
the owners and management respect their employees and give them all the support they could need or ask for, and it ensures a great quality finish and happy work atmosphere
