My typical workday as a manager was coming in, checking for important emails. Then I would walk my floor and check conditions of the department. Tidy up and stock shelves as needed. Order products for shelves. Check on customer returns, create reports on returns. Contact vendors and submit customer returns for credits. Write out daily tasks for my team. Write out the team work schedule for the week. Fill out shrink reports, profits, and projection reports. Provide customer service. Reprimand any team member that didn't follow through tasks assigned. Schedule trainings for my team for products the department carried. Participated in meetings for the store. Answered any team members questions and addressed their concerns. Delegated tasks throughout the team. Followed up on customer special orders. Reviewed labor budgets.

The work itself is hard but feels good when you finally accomplish something. Breaking down loads takes time and you really feel it after. Management can be good or bad depending on store location, at my store it was pretty good except the assistant. The dept. manager I worked with was really great and knew how to run things from his many years of experience in grocery. 
Unfortunately corporate doesn't really like it when you think outside of the box, even if it works really well and nets more profit. If it's not their way, it's no one's way. Morale is low right now with all the people leaving and hours getting cut. Customers are pretty cool for the most part unless you work in the produce department. Overall it started pretty good but just got worse as time went on.

Sprouts is a good place for high school students and part-time workers. It is only easy to advance your career if you can keep up with the inconsistency in expectations and company policies. As a non-salary manager you are still expected to stay extreme hours of overtime, answer your personal cellphone anytime during business hours, and come in on days off. The company is incredibly tight with money and rarely fix or order new equipment necessary for production. Pay is very low. New team members are hired in at higher wages than experienced team members.

A typical day for me at Sprouts was first to clock in and the check with shift manager on goals for the day. Then start packaging different meats and placing them in their right section. My managers at Sprouts were all very nice and supportive. My Co-workers were hard working individuals that wanted to get the job done right which was why our department's displays were always the best and we made the most sales. The hardest part of the job was closing and making sure everything was clean and put away in the right place. The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing the smile on the customers face after I've helped them.

Disorganized, unprofessional management at every level. Constant ridiculous demands in the deli; I.e. 'Reduce waste' but 'Make more of this thing that doesn't sell'.  I was told I was promoted a month and a half before they finalized it, no back pay.  Overworked, under appreciated. Insanely stressful environment full of gossips, liars, and favoritism. Unreliable schedules, understaffed.  Make/ bring your own food for 'Employee Appreciation Week' which lasts a day. Good 15% discount, though, and I like the food we sell. Going to leave as soon as I find a job with better pay.

It's a retail job. Be prepared for a lot of call outs and phone calls to come in on days off. You are rewarded at times but nothing out of the ordinary. I was personally lucky enough to move up quickly but there were a lot of other employees that had a hard time moving up within company. Not much feedback is given. There is a lot of drama and talking behind peoples back but if you can stay out of it and focus on yourself the job isn't bad. My store in particular had an extremely high turnover rate. they were constantly hiring people and couldn't keep up with the amount of people quitting. Mostly had to do with the location.

They act like they care about health, environment and the employees but it is all a wash, cash is king.  Micro managed to death, regionals are over paid thugs whom don't help, only come in to criticize the employees .  underpaid employees.  Don't really see how this company has such a loyal following.  The employees are great and work hard.  Treat them better

Excellent products for a good price. Working there has made me want to change my eating habits for the better. Not always super busy customers come and go in waves throughout the day.

Working and managing a constant flow of customers and employees was challenging and rewarding. Multitasking and diversity was a necessity to overcome daily obstacles.

There were never enough people to work the shifts and pay is very low. Work environment is not that bad the people are really great to work with...…..
