The learning curve is steep at 1st , the manager is unforgiving if you make mistakes . She will set you up to fail if that doesn't work will use some made up lies to terminate you. 
Culture is a joke. All the surveillance supervisor did when I was there was complain or laugh about the security Manager & employees,  the restaurant staff and certain casino staff. Not to mention the way they ran the casino. 
The surveillance Manager uses her supervisors to report on you everything you say to get dirt on you to terminate you.
Don't get sick the Survielance Manager is unempathic and will hold that against you.
No wonder there is a high turn over there. Just because you have 20 yrs experience , doesn't make you an effective leader. It only makes an draconian authoritarian.
Hardest part of the job working with said minions and the management 
Most enjoyable part  leaving. 
Just to let you know I had to hire a lawyer to get my personal file that I'm entitled to. I asked 4 different times.  Whats the matter with the manager and human resources in stonewalling me.  
You need to ask yourself is this who I want to work for.


Atypical day at work would consist of serving customers, cleaning/organizing stock, over seeing other employee, and solving any problem that may arise. Ive learned that i am capable of so much more then i ever thought i would be. St Eugene has taught me to be an all around better person. Management worked with everyone as a team and strived to help you with whatever you needed. The coworkers made St Eugene more then a job, they made you part of a family. The hardest part of the job would have to be the physical aspect, this job requires you to be on your feet continuously. Its also requires a person to lift and move heavy objects. The most enjoyable part of the job was the interaction with customers of all sorts.

do not work here, I worked here along side friends and the CEO's Children and yet their kids were never sent home when called in, and everyone expect for them got paid minimum wage, and got no tips, and was overall treated like you are not worth a cent. if you are the CEO's kids, it is the best job, otherwise, worst experience of my life. only good thing I could say about it, they were respectful to the fact that it was once a residential school and honouring the history there. 

Worked there for a few years about 5 or 6 years ago. Same manager was there at the time so when I needed a new job she was more than happy to take me back. Didn't even have to interview. She was amazing and atmosphere was amazing. Que a couple months later new manager was hired and shes turned the department into a waking nightmare. Can't manage herself out of a paper bag, Can't hire people worth anything, and me and several other employees think she's a fat person hater (literally keeps commenting of physical fitness of perspective and current employees).Seriously if you have a choice, avoid applying here.

I have worked at St. Eugene resort for over 20 years and plan to stay until I retire.  I have been able to advance in my career and am supported by my peers and management.  There is discounts, free golf and a fantastic benefit plan.  The wages are on par with similar careers in other Casinos and combined with the benefits, I feel properly compensated.  I have ample training opportunities to further my skills.

Pros

1. Great work environment. Everyone is very friendly and helpful
2. There is a lot of freedom in the effort we put in which allows us to exceed our area of expertise and deliver something exception.
3. Very inclusive and inviting environment with a lot of representation of minorities.

Wouldn't work there ever again
Tips and customers were ripped off everyday
It was a job and I had to work,it wasn't worth the gas to get there and your bonus is taking in empties to the bottle depot sometimes,which went back in for my fuel to get to work and back.


It's a "Do as I say and not as I do" culture. 
Didn't get any training, never saw my manager,  no one really cares if you do a good job or not. 
Senior management is all talk and no action, does not care about staff, and it shows. 

I enjoy my job. Friendly co-workers, great place to work and interact with the public  Free golf. Management listens to employees and has always been there to help me out on any concerns. Great Benefits. 

100% owned by the Ktunaxa Indigenous people. Hotel is an old residential school that has been converted to a beautiful wonderland. All staff is wonderful.
