St. Joseph Hospital

I enjoyed my time at Mount St. Joseph hospital. Its a union job so theres a lot of job security but the pay is pretty much set. There is differential pay depending on what shifts you work and if you a senior technician. The hospital is always a stressful place to work but it helped having good coworkers to work with. The work is important and does give you a sense of accomplishment. But Cons first. Some of old timers wouldnt pull their weight cause they had "put in their time" so you had to navigate through that garbage once in a while. Also, most of people who were over 45 yrs are computer illiterate so you end up doing a lot training for them or end up doing their leftover work. Emergencies happen often so the days schedule can change drastically. So if you like routine with no surprises this is not the place for you. Pros: there lots of training and autonomy. The management leaves you to be responsible for your work and job duties. If you need help or have concerns the door was usually open. Micromanagement was low but the flip side was if you messed up there would be accountability. Which is understandable cause it's a hospital and patients and their surgeries can be affected. The nurses and doctors you work with are nice for the most part. Overall, its a good place to work if you dont take petty comments from old coworkers personally, the pay is decent, good work culture when you have staff on the same shift. Also, you dont take the work home with you unless you one of those sensitive types. 

This company organize and plan all their financial and patients care the same as other company where I had a job or worked as volunteer. This company as other  value volunteer work  not only for their own benefit but also for the people who work for them as volunteers.

Enjoyed my time here as a preceptee. I loved working with the geriatric population. The managers, as well as my preceptor, were great to work with - knowledgeable and fun.

Excellent opportunities for learning and growth within the applicable field. Good team environment with helpful and friendly co-workers.

this is a place where new grads should apply as there are a lot of diff cases that they will see and they will learn from. Very easy going
