I've worked in restaurants before, good management is hard to find and it's not sort of an expectation, unfortunately. However, this place is an absolute mess. They do not take care of you. They do not care about you. All they care about is money. Many times customers will find hairs in their food, you'll bring it to Expo (owner) and the hairnet-less kitchen lead (owner) and they will go silent. To that, I asked them "maybe we should start using hairnets?" To which I got no response. This happens over and over. Tip out goes missing, hosts/kitchen is underpaid in terms of tip out. there should be some sort of investigation regarding where the server's tip-out is going.... not fair for the hard-working hosts, dishwashers, and line cooks. The chill work environment is a plus, but management makes this place unbearable. They do not value the good workers or the feedback was given by them. Employees are not treated as they should. Also, they enforce NO consequences to the people who come hours late every week, with outfits furthest from the uniform. They laugh it off. So if you get this job, here's how you can succeed. It's not by showing up on time, respectfully asking for more shifts, being in uniform, and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will have just as much success at this place if you show up late, in whatever clothes you want, and talk back to management. \ Work here if you want to deal with headaches from management. Work here if you want to go to your table to find a hair in the customer's food. Work here if you want to be taken for granted. 

When I went for my interview it was a very easy hiring process I was asked no joke one question and it wasn’t even related to the job. I was then asked to come in for a “trial shift” the next day when I come in for the trial shift everything was great I heard back the next day from them saying the manager said I did great. And wanted to offer me the position. From there I went to 4 training shifts where I learned the bare minimum. I wasn’t taught about what they consider standard or none of that. About a day or two into my training shifts they had more “trial shifts” coming in by the time I went in for my first shift alone I felt like I knew what I was doing but at the same time I didn’t. They had 5 trainees come in and when I would ask questions they would get upset and would not say they were upset but their tone and facial expressions said eitherwise as they were trying to manage 5 different people. I worked approximately 2 more shifts before I received a text. Saying they were letting me go. And I went in for a shift the day I received a text being fired. I felt upset,embarrassed but more then anything confused. I could not figure out what I did wrong as they said I did great in my trial shift and training I also felt extremely confident in my work the day they “fired me” via text message. Besides that I do not recommend working here. The work is easy but the people are not nice and show no signs of compassion or sympathy. Especially for people who have bills to pay and hire them for less then two weeks. 

Let me just start off with the fact that this franchise does not care about you. Especially the management. The staff belittles eachother, management doesn’t know what confrontation is and will let you dig yourself a hole before saying anything to you at all about your performance. This location especially has an insane turnover rate because instead of properly training the staff, the employees and management would rather gossip about everything that they aren’t doing right, just to fire them while on probation. I spent over a year with the company just for them to cut my hours because of a personal matter, and ended up being terminated. Meanwhile I have the most reviews on their page, have given them so much of my attention and time just to be thrown away and replaced within a day. I know I have amazing potential for the field, but I would much rather use my skills elsewhere with a company that doesn’t belittle me, speak horribly about me behind my back and actually lets me know how I can improve when I ask or need to. 
If you apply for this job just understand what you’re walking into. It’s all family owned and run and they keep their circle small and tight. They are only going to keep you for a small period of time until they find someone else to do it to next. This is just a warning review for newcomers. 

When you go to apply for this job, they will say things like "above industry standard wages" and "room for growth and development". 

Don't fall for it. Don't get me wrong, this position started out great. The hours are great and the franchise as a whole is not the problem here. Just be very careful and ask alot of questions before you take this position. 

The average tip out for kitchen is 4-5%. This means almost a third of YOUR hard earned tips will be going to the kitchen. When you are initially trained by corporate, everyone is super nice, and the job is clearly outlined with direction on standards on how to do everything. Then they leave and the owners or managers basically throw all of that out the window. It leaves you as a server with no consistency, constant mixed messages from everyone, and a lot of confusion. 

Hours and schedules were also withheld by management so they could see who they thought "deserved" hours. Some weeks we didn't receive our schedule for the current week we were in until half way through. 

I don't think Stacked is a bad company, I think they need to pay more close attention to who they are letting run the restaurants under their franchise.

I am also not putting the true location of my store so I don't get backlash from this review. 


I’ve quit after a month working at the Bolton location of this restaurant due to the Manger/owner bad communicational skills, the disrespectful commentary he had made to other staff members and me as well. How unprofessional the manger/owner was (he fired an employee in a group chat), the sexiest comments he made towards female staff members “your a girl, you should know how to clean” and also when I’ve gotten an accidental work injury at work, and had the doctor Prescribe me a week off of work. The manger/owner told me I will not be getting paid for that week off and that I will have to work another week to get paid. When I received my governmental letter for the workplace injury it stated that I did not receive medical health care for my injury (because that is what the employer had stated while filing my workplace injury report/. While in Reality I called the owner/manager and emailed him my doctor's note and told him what medical healthcare I needed/had. He also did not give employees contracts when they started their job and did not also give some employees tips until everyone had told him too. But overall, the other staff members were amazing, kind and friendly and made my experience fun to work at.

I would NEVER encourage anyone to apply here.  

The owners say its like "a family"  but what they dont say is by that they mean the management they have are their friends.  If the "friends" dont like you or you are more capable and they know it and feel threatened - they fire you.... With no reason at all.... You are just done!! They also fire you via text message at late hours of the night and say that you are being let go by the owner.  When you question the owner they say They have no idea and to talk to the manager.  They make claims they all have no idea....so you get no answers.  EXTREMELY PROFFESSIONAL.

Organization is a huge problem also.  Everyone that is hired does EVERY job in the place and everyones all over the place. Theres no "rhythm" to the job - just a mess.

They have a HUGE turnover rate for employees and there is a good reason for that.

Dont trust this employer.  Not worth the stress, or money. (Which is not great- they give all the tables to the "favorites" and give the newer staff 2 or 3 tables while the others get 6 or 7) 
There is manditory tip out and you have to provide your own float.
Also-  tips that are through debit are paid once a week.  So u dont always get to count on tips!
 
So many issues.  There is zero stability,  zero organization,  and zero copability for anyone in management.  
Look elsewhere and save yourself the issues!!  


seems like the whole establishment is terrible, the job itself is easy but the management is awful and scared of confrontation and make u pull teeth just for an answer to absolutely anything back, they let u go without telling u just stop communication all together. management had absolutely no experience running a restaurant. training is confusing and there’s no effort put into training u. this establishment is the definition of “we don’t actually care about our employees and you’d think it would just be my store i worked at but no it seems to be most of them. If u have to call of for a valid reason no matter the reason you get punished for it by not being scheduled for that week again or you just let go regardless. there’s no sense of understanding when it comes to employees situations. For your sake do not waste your time. even the interview process made no sense, I feel like they just gave me the job without looking at my credentials whatsoever and was hired solely for the purpose of having a space to fill until they were ready to drop me. 
I’m very self aware mind you and i’d be able to tell if i’m doing a terrible job but i went above and beyond and then some just to be dropped when i missed one singular day.

The manager of the Stacked Bolton franchise has no idea what he's doing. He is clueless, rude, sexist and completely disrespectful. He hires people and then fires them shortly after, usually for no reason or for small mistakes that can easily be learned from. He would release the schedule with only 24 hours notice and make changes to it consistently with no regard for anybody's availability, no matter how far in advance we gave him notice of days off. He would also get angry with us for needing days off, which is absurd- we always gave him notice, and in my own experience, I let him know that I had a second job and told him IN MY INTERVIEW what my availability was, but when he would repeatedly ask me to work days that he knew I was not available, he would get angry. I would not recommend working at this particular location- however, I can't speak for the other locations. Stacked Bolton is a horrible work environment, with 0 support from the owner despite his claims of caring for his employees and being there to help them. The only good side of working here was the other employees, most of whom have now left as a result of the horrible management and the way he mistreated us.

Very two faced work environment. Will tell you you’re doing a great job to your face, only to turn around and gossip about you and belittle you behind your back. Managers won’t train you but will complain when you don’t do things the way they want. There were even instances where I would overhear managers talking badly about employees, including myself, then approach them and say things like “OMG I love you! You’re doing such a good job!”. Very fake and unprofessional. Would rather them just yell at you to your face, so you can fix your mistakes, instead of acting like highschool mean girls at their big grown age. No steady management either. Managers will come and go regularly. They all talk poorly about eachother behind eachothers backs too, but it’s the same thing. Once they saw eachother they were suddenly “best friends”, despite all they said before. Passive agressive and toxic work environment. Many employees quit after a few months. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Starting here just two months ago, I’ve been happy by how quickly this workplace feels like more than a job, it feels like a community. From day one, I was welcomed not just as a new hire but as someone whose ideas and perspective genuinely matter. There’s a sense of family in the way my colleauges support one another, share knowledge, and celebrate each other’s wins. What stands out most is that you’re never treated like a number. You’re seen, heard, and included as a true partner in the work. Being part of a team that values collaboration, trust, and open conversation makes coming to work both motivating and meaningful.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The Company is in growth mode, I can't say that it isn't stressful but it's all exciting challenges. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It feels like a community. We can all have a great laugh & time together but also get our work done.
