I had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the colleagues were great, making me feel welcome from day one. The company promotes employee engagement and aims to create a positive work culture. However, I was let go after four months without any clear reason, despite passing probation with positive feedback. For a company focusing on building a feedback culture, I received no warnings or guidance on my shortcomings of any kind especially being a trainee. This left me confused and with shattered confidence. 

Startec is a great place to work. It is a company that is rapidly evolving which may scare some people off, but I love it! Expansion has created a lot of exciting new areas of expertise for staff to become knowledgeable in, you learn something new everyday! I’ve found that working at Startec is full of surprises- and always good ones! I've really enjoyed my time working here. Everyone works together as a team and are willing to help out when needed, and I have had nothing but great experiences with the management team! Thank you Startec for everything! I will miss working for this company.

Outside of the Corporate office the work environment is toxic, sexist, and completely void of respect. Many employees are on contract and management doesn't care about their employees and continually extends one for only a couple weeks everytime. Management laughs at the way they treat employees and pays them as little as possible. Benefits are not offered to contractors and they pay well below industry standard and try to employ temporary personnel to fill in all the gaps and at the lowest pay possible.

As an intern here, my experience has been incredible. I hadn't even finished university and they brought me on for an internship, and were very patient as I learned the ropes. The workplace culture is very friendly and work is constantly being done on innovative and transformative solutions for the energy transformation industry. Overall, a great work experience, and I would definitely recommend Startec to my fellow interns and professionals alike.  

I worked with Startec for awhile and found it to be the best company I've worked with. The executive team is passionate and you can see that in the way they approach their business practices. I never felt like just another number there. Startec is definitely a great company with an incredibly unique and welcoming culture. 10/10 would recommended.  

I really enjoyed the crew I was on, probably the best I've worked with, my supervisor was really great. Decent pay.

Other than that it's bad. Bad communication, lack of organization, always out of parts, every dept working against each other, and the worst spooling I have seen. Completely disposable will randomly let you go right before your probation is up with no reason why. 
 

They push their culture but it truly is brutal, with out cause terminations all over the place. Executive branch doesn't even tell you when they have an issue with you, they just package you out. Yet they talk about how strong their culture is. Really disappointing, don't leave a good paying job to be set up for failure in this organization. 

I have had the opportunity to work with most of the leadership team at Startec and found them to always be professional, approachable, dependable, open, people. The organization is full of intelligent problem solvers that enjoy working with each other and getting things done.
