I have worked here for almost 4 years. It’s a great place to learn as an apprentice.  The people I met there were great.  Some of the foreman and lead hands are nice to work with. However, there are some bad apples there.  If the “under qualified” foreman and “immature” lead hand tag teams, they will hinder your learning progress as an apprentice. The foreman I just mentioned is the relative of the owner, so you probably get the idea.  I met other former electricians that worked there, and they totally agreed with me.

Other than that, it’s a great stepping stone for apprentices, but I won’t stay there for too long.  Once becoming a Journeyman,  there are better places that pays significantly more.

Their payment is good(only for hospital site), power tools are provided. But if you are not meeting their expectation, they will kick you out right away. The work is stressful and fast paced. One foreman manages several sites by himself, so he usually doesn't show up. My leadhand was good at 2 things. Expressing how much he is stressed to others (especially to his apprentices) and not covering your back. If you make any mistakes he will just report it to his supervisors. 
You better not get caught using your cell phone for 'any reason'. Also they will not pay you severance pay by making up any reason for kicking you out. Since they kick out people easily, they always suffer for getting enough work force. 

A typical workday starts around 6:30-7:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM, providing a productive schedule with time for personal activities in the afternoon. I significantly improved my skills in a short period, thanks to the fast-paced environment and diverse tasks that enhanced both my technical and interpersonal abilities. The management team is exceptional, characterized by their politeness, responsibility, and friendliness, creating a supportive and motivating work atmosphere. The workplace culture is predominantly Canadian, marked by respect and inclusivity, with a strong emphasis on valuing and embracing different cultures.

I love that we approach each day with safety first in mind followed by a plan to do the work as efficiently as possible. There is tons of opportunities to learn and expand your knowledge with Status through the provinces apprenticeship program. The job has lots of variety so you don't feel your stuck doing the same thing day after day which you can find at other jobs or careers.The managers are truly understanding and provide a comfortable environment in which to learn even during the crunch times when things need to get done.

Very professional, very patient and good people to work with. Always adjustable and awesome hardworking teams. I had learned a lot since my time there, but with everything I've learned thanks to the crew that was teaching me, I was able to get into a new electrical position here in Kamloops, had I have not went with Status Electric, I wouldn't have been able to make this move with the skills I have to continue on my electrical path

Worked here just under a month and had a horrible experience. The foremen and journeymen would verbally abuse you whenever they can. Not really electrical work , Basically they hire apprentices to do the grunt work and make it sound like it's an honour to work for STATUS . they have strange company policies as well before you start work for this place such as doing there safety tests. I am a security systems technician at Status and it’s a really fun and good place to work at. The management is really helpful and supportive. I especially like working the early hours cause it gives me a great work life balance. Like every company there are days when stuff goes wrong but no company is perfect. I would say they provide there employees with the best tools and resources to help them succeed.

We do all commercials sites. There are so many new things to learn. we have a lead hand to give us a guidance on what to do next. I find everything challenging everyday but not hardest. The most enjoyable part is that everybody is so friendly and foreman always like to teach us something new everyday.

Always encouraged to learn new skills, perfect company to gain a multi-faceted career in the electrical industry.  It feels like you are part of a big family and the variety of projects keeps you engaged and enables ongoing development.  Highly recommended if you want a long-term employment opportunity.

I worked for them for a little over a month and there Forman and supervisors were really rude and would abuse you verbally. They also would make you feel like your nothing to the company and don’t treat you like an asset at all.
