I'll give you the honey before the hatchet. You'll get Friday's off work at 2:30 instead of 5 in lieu of working an extra half hour every day, the benefits are decent for people who have families/dependents, the job is mostly stable, so even while the rest of the province was getting laid off, Steelc-craft kept its people employed.

Before I get into what's negative let me just say that this is not the worst place to work. The work itself isn't too bad and the people are okay, my only actual issues are that the way the company is structured is really old-school and is not set up for being an 'advancement-friendly' environment unless you're good at brown-nosing. And even then the farthest you'll get is 'lead-hand'.

 The downside is management, upon hiring, feeds all new-hires the same spiel about 'we want to hire new blood in order to fill in all the vacancies because we have a lot of people ready to retire' the problem with that is they dress it up to sound like there'll be opportunities to advance. There aren't. Instead they just mean that a lot of the grunts and laborers there are ready to retire and they need new people to fill those roles. The pay is not as good as it should be for what's expected of people but certain job roles do work harder than others. They blanket-term everyone across the facility a 'general laborer', even people who have been servicing the complicated machinery that they use to manufacture some of the parts. For how old the company is, the way that management treats its employees is poor and borderline insulting. There are no transferable skills to learn here that'll prepare you for other jobs in the future, the exception to that is if you're absolutely green and want to get your foot in the door in blue collar/manufacturing work. Also I was told today that due to 'legal reasons' the company outright does not provide references, only RoE's. So I found out that all my effort put into working hard to get a good reference was for nothing, which makes this place a literal trap.

Stressful and frustrating place to work under management no room for advancement or pay increase based on abilities one of the hardest things is the expectations of the management based in how many workers they have 

Good place if you liked to be lied to every day(Raise after probation and you will never get laid off)
Complete garbage...
Heavy favouritism.Treat good employees sub-par and everybody is lucky to be working.
Most management and lead hands should play in oncoming traffic.

I had to order pick doors, organize inventory and load up installers hardest part of job was unloading trailer full of doors which takes skill on forklift and picking custom door orders. Challenging part of my day was dealing with some difficult coworkers.

Would not recommend working here.
Management/ownership is ran through anger and dictatorship style. 
No room for opinions or ideas unless they are the owners. Very difficult to work here unless you are willing to have no opinion. 
Frequent firing/ threat of firing

Was a good job made me feel like family 
And safety was on point always a clean and tidy shop all around a great company some days where harder than others but got through em just fine good pay

My short time with steel-craft taught me a lot both professionally and personally. I feel like i added value to the company and worked well with the people i met there

Very good atmosphere, very good benefits, good employers and employees to work with, good staff, good HR in assisting in any assistance needed for work related issues

Great company, excellent working environment, plenty of advancement opportunities. Coworkers are some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
