Stitch It

You are required to produce a certain amount per hour, serve customers and clean. Everything depends on that minimum per hour so everyone fights to get the easiest jobs and serve the least customers. There is no team work and morale is low. Most jobs are part time so the benefits are minimal and any reason is found not to give you a raise come review time. Mine was that I didn’t dust the store. I didn’t even know I had to dust the store. No one else dusted the store. There is no trust, they have mystery shoppers come in and their report is read to us my management. You feel spied on. If you close the store,you do cash and everyone’s production sheet count. That can take twenty minutes but you aren’t paid.
In short, it is not a comfortable place to work for very long.

You'll be micromanaged by uneducated and misinformed management which lean on the shoulders of people under them only for you take the blame for their bad decision making. HR were the only supportive members during my day on the job, and the workplace culture is one that of compartmentalization, secrets, and lies. The everyday workplace culture is like any office job but they'll drill you and expect you to do 6 months of work in 6 weeks to milk you for every breath. Faulty IT systems, and low pay are the least of your worries. The hardest part of the job isn't the customers it's the internal management, and lack of guidance and training on what is expected without being realistic. My most enjoyable part of the job was going home so I didn't have to breathe the toxic air.

I got the job as part time but I have been working full time (usually over 40 hours every week) for well over a year since I was hired. There has been no mention of an opportunity for full time ever. And even with the fact that I often work overtime bonuses are far and few between, not to mention that they are absolutley not worth the amount of extra work. 

The staff has been friendly which is the only reason I have stayed as long as I have but it's not worth it. The customers always want more and the solutions that Head Office proposes are laughable at best. Never have I ever worked in a job that has made me feel so powerless as Stitch It. This is a horrible company to work for.

A waking nightmare, you will be called any hour of the day. You will be expected to work the night shift and then the morning shifts the next day, no matter how far you live. The manager is a terrible gossip about everyone. If you, the new employee make too many mistakes they will threaten to take it from your pay.

I worked here for a few years. Came straight from a fashion and sewing program at George Brown. Don't work here if you want to learn more about sewing and tailoring. They won't have the time to show you. Stressful environment working right alongside manager who was not very understanding or kind at times. Company is all about production time, and working under pressure.

Pay is a joke for what is expected of the job. Hours are terrible because it's in a mall. Constant calls from work even on days off (without pay). Head office would promise bonuses that you would never get. Toxic work environment. Overall, would not recommend at all.

Great experience at the jobsite I worked at, I am unsure if they are all like that. The pay could have been better but it's the world we live in now, we buy new instead of fixing so the business doesn't get a lot of revenue.

Hours were flimsy at best, business struggling was probably the reason.Management was terrible and letting people go without any oral correspondence.Lots of infighting and gossiping between the seamstress.The pay was bad too.
