I had a bad employment experience, and though it was not all caused by the workplace itself, I would still not fully recommend it (in terms of a steady place to work). I was a server at Stoney's.

I was asked to give a fellow employee a shift, as there was a misunderstanding where they were docked some hours. I agreed to help, I felt empathy. I was then consistently robbed of that shift, as that employee twisted my words and said I would never be able to work that shift. No management bothered to confirm that with me.

I was also sent home early on many occasions. In some cases, that might be nice, but being paid a server's wage and making most of my pay off tips, it was a huge frustration.

The establishment is still a great place to eat, and there are many pleasant employees there, but I was among the few to have a bad experience. That being said, a bad workplace experience is NOT a common experience for me.

Pursue this at your own risk.

Being part of  the "Stoney's" franchise since day 1 that they opened, it gave me an ample perspective of what is it starting a new business. 
I worked with the trainers during a 2 week of training prior to the opening. They taught me how to execute every recipe according to their guidelines. 
I would recommend this restaurant to any cook that wants to understand what a franchise restaurant is, and also being aware all the procedures and regulations you have to follow.

Stoney's provided an excellent learning opportunity to understanding a restaurant kitchen and how it functions. Despite its often long and straining hours, the job culture made up for it, especially since it was a smaller staff than a typical restaurant chain. The experience was more family-like than anything, and management was not stressful to deal with most of the time. Overall, Stoney's was an excellent environment and work experience.

It is a great job for people who enjoy customer service and fast paced environments. Management shows a lot of favouritism and personal bias towards employees, a lot of decision-making is personal. Many expectations from the employee and a toxic environment.

Worked there for a short period of time.  Came in with some experience but was treated poorly. 
Management was just terrible, couldn't get a long and there was constant jealousy and drama between staff.

Slow time in the afternoon till about 6:30, I learned a lot, multi-tasking is a must. Management is okay, could be better. Multi-cultural staff no discrimination. Hardest part is when its short staffed and busy. Most enjoyable is being in a relaxed environment.

Meeting new people, memorizing their order for when the come in and seeing how amazed they're with my memory.

The workplace is a fun environment, and the management work with you to grow in the company

All I can say is it's like one big family there. the owners treat everyone the same and never once touched our tips. they feed the kitchen staff and gave a reasonable discount to the front of house staff

Was a great time. Always challenging and exciting, with lots of great coworkers. Fast paced, and could get very stressful though. Also they're permanent closed now so...

staff is friendly and fun to be around, isn't full service so work load was light. tips are pooled so it doesn't come close to compensating for lower server pay.
