Overall, it is a good place to start your career and unless you get lucky or upper management really likes you, it is difficult to grow here.  You could suck up to the right people and possibly get something good, or you could even potentially earn it.  But the fact remains that because this is a smaller company, executive management has a lot of power in a company with very little structure and accountability.

The compensation and benefits are below industry averages by design as the company doesn't pay for performance but looks for people that are willing to work for less. 

There are some well intentioned people that are helpful and competent but there are several individuals that behave aggressively and rudely with their co-workers and customers. Petty feuds between managers and departments are common. For a small company, I've never seen so much discord and bad behaviour. 

The company likes to project a progressive image but if you look at the place with open eyes, you see it for what it is. The office decor is worn and tired. People in the office rarely smile and the mood feels funereal. 

As a suggestion, you may want to consider working here only If you have a tough skin, can work in a less than dynamic environment and accept a lower standard of living.

Horrible politics combined with nepotism is going to kill this company. 

Then the fact that they are 10 years + behind the times makes their application undesirable combined with the starting of new ideas, designs, new build...and then 80 % of the started projects get shelved. 

New ideas from new employees, management and long time employees do not want to hear it...have an issue with embracing change.

It would take changing all upper management to make a difference and design better solutions....they are what holds that company back.

Free coffee and water. Small company setting, nepotism runs rampant.
If you have been working there long enough and they like you then you can be a manager. Not judged based on whether you can be effective as a manager. (or if you have family ties, of course :) )
People still working there are waiting to retire as they are handicapped by the antiquated technologies used.

Great company to work , good atmosphere, friendly colleagues.
I leaned Progress and PortfolioPlus application .
I contribute at enhancements for version 2016 of application's release. Worked with QA team and business team.
Worked with reporting team in developing Cyberquery reports for external clients.

The company is old and broken down and cant be rebuilt. There are wars going on that will never end. Management is so lost in what the modern work and competition does and does well. They are lost in the country side. Perhaps management would be better at plowing a corn field.

A once thriving company has been reduced to a company focused on sales yet unable to provide innovation and quality.  Poor leadership and without vision.

smaller company, great product, great people.  The resposibilities at reception were essentially the same day in and day out.  The Company as a whole provided a great product that was useful for many businesses.

A strong client base, but they have a system that is antiquated and not able to be updated/enhanced very quickly. Product development and sucessfull rollout is a struggle.

work and work more , never appreciated.   Always wanted more.
Would never recommend this place to anyone.  They are a family run company and outdate policy and building
