What is the best part of working at the company?
Management have you've back ,compassionate a little understanding,always willing to work with you to accommodate when need be,  might be scare to talk to your manager but they truly have your back. schedule sucks. But they are working on it to make it better. OMG  the client I have to words to say is because they are always smiling no matter what.. yes challenges with them but they get it over it before we do, they love spending time with their staff by going out on outing even if it's a 30 minute drive or to get a drink at a restaurant. Clients I know well enjoy movie nights at there home meaning entire home matching movie together and enjoying a snack at their prefered seat in common area. 
Clients do have you back when you advocate for them.
SDS do have the best benefits out there went it comes to dentist, massage  unlimited physio. As well cannot forget the drug plan we have. You are covered trust me.

Staff are amazing to work with especially when you work together all the time they have your back and that is something you don't have to worry about .

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When you think staff don't have your back or when your client is having a rough day and can't explain to you.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Staff make it hostile.  They have been embracing culture.    They are encouraging staff from different culture to add their expertise in taste to the menu.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Laughter, encouragement, what's going to happened next, socializing with your client. We don't pressure our clients to do something when they are not ready meaning when they want to start their day.. yes we let them sleep in, we wake them up for meds, check on them if they are feeling ok corn if they are ready to eat...cbut we do remind them if the outing that is planned for that day.
Sometimes our clients refuse to go out and we need to accept it.

You work more then 12 hours in a row frequently ( nights call in sick and you are forced to stay overnight) no overtime for consecutive hours … I have worked 20 hours in a row & never got overtime because they cut your hours to fall within 88 hours in a pay period ( that they deem overtime) .  You pay into a union that does literally nothing for you; no actual training prior to starting.  You work with people that are oblivious to common sense & I was surprised how many staff do not care about the clients ( some staff were amazing ) .  Not worth the money you receive for what you are expected to do.  Expect to be assaulted by your clients with no support from management; seen many coworkers assaulted resulting in injury.

A typical day at work is caring for clients in group homes on steady night shifts from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. My job was to manage all nightly duties which include preparing meals, doing laundry, housecleaning, taking notes for each client, helping them with their baths, and administrating medication. I would also get them ready the next morning for their workday.
The most enjoyable part of my job was to make sure my clients had a safe and clean home to live in.
The hardest part of my job was the physical and verbal abuse from my mentally challenged clients.
I've learned to have a lot of patience and empathy.  I've also learned how to deal with different personalities due to their disabilities.

Provide care, safety and well being of individuals with health issues. Prepare programs, goals, assessments, medical appointments, and daily routines for Clients of all ages and mental or physical challenges. Including hygiene, finances, outings.
I learned patience, understanding, good listening skills.
I do enjoy working one on one or in a group setting alone or with other co workers.

My position with SDS has by far, been the most rewarding position that I have ever had. The staff to client ratio is good.  The staff are very caring, and in turn take excellent care of our clients.  The association is very professional.  It is comforting working in a home environment, and feels more like spending time with family.  I highly recommend taking a position at this association.

SDS is a great place to work.  Great clients and co workers who put the clients first.  Covid has been very stressful but the agency has been very supportive throughout.  

I really like to work here. Everyone workers are supportive. Good managers. Well organized agency. Clients are treated really well. Good pay. So many opportunities.

Good to support clients
But management was not good for the most part.
The pay is okay and 2$ premium if you work at a behavioural home, some people call  in sick last minute and you’re stuck at work on Christmas Without being prepared for it

i did not enjoy my experience with sudbury developmental services.  the management was unfair and they did not treat the employers fairly. i felt mistreated a lot of the time and a lot of issues were never settled or dealt with

Place is amazing management is very reasonable, the clients are great, the work environment is calm and energetic at the same time workplace culture is casual
