What is the best part of working at the company?
The only part that was good about working there was I learned interesting things from great doctors. But it was a Very Toxic Environment and very unfair towards new staff especially if you were not in the “Select” racial group! There was no support for new staff that really needed it! If you didn’t fall into the “chosen” people then you were treated as an outsider!
You had no hope to succeed!
So much gossip and manipulation! This is why Nursing shortages happen! Nurses treat other nurses with cruelty and harshness or in other words they bully them!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with other nurses and having to learn so many different surgeries in each and every service plus learn each surgeon’s preferences in each and every one of their surgeries! It’s quite a task when you are new but totally expected by your team leaders! 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic, bullying, no empathy and you have no one you can trust or go to with your concerns. When you make an error and try to explain they say you are arguing! It’s a hopeless situation!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, doing several surgeries and being under pressure the whole da!

The PMO at Sunnybrook hospital is a tricky place to work as a BA.

Some PM's are not aware of the role of a BA and the demarcation of responsibilities between a BA and  PM. So most often, as  BA you end up supporting the PM's with adhoc documentation request, without actually being handed the accountability of producing the deliverables, that rightfully should be a BA's job - things like Architecture Diagram or Conceptual Model, Logical  Model, Physical Model. Therefore, as a BA, you end up adding little value to your resume.

An employee grows through progressively shouldering more accountabilities and mentoring by supervisors. There was none of that for me in the PMO at Sunnybrook. There was no growth. In fact I felt that growth was discouraged. 

The PMO management may not ever speak with you to know your needs and vision. If they do however find time, nothing may come out of those discussions.They`re way too busy.

In summary, I had a bad experience working here. 

Sunnybrook is still a great place to work other than the PMO. If you're joining the PMO and looking to grow, make sure you ask the question to the interviewer "what does growth look like here?"

I use to be their cook but I left due to poor management, lack of communication, micro management, favouritism. If you feel the need to be around a building full of lying catty women who are always talking behind your back then this is the place for you by taking the position you will be watching kids starve cause the menu mainly consists of a diet for a sick person not a growing child who needs to experience New foods and be nourished so they can be open and able to learn for the day BEANS that's mostly the menu how many beans did you eat as a child next to none so not only are they waisting parents money but food as well. As the cook your menu is what the manager says it is mind you she has no culinary education and is withering away herself.  Your job will never be secure and you will never feel at ease in this place.  Just ask all of the staff there now always in fear of  losing their jobs no loyalties on  Management behalf She makes decisions based on her emotions you know how women are watch out!!

I did my placement here in Sunny Brook in a medical/surgical unit. It is a different unit I must say because clients here do not stay for long. They only stay for couple of day. I really enjoy interacting with patients and family before they go to there surgery. I have learned to much on how they prepare theirselves prior to surgery. I also get to learn on how to interact with physicians and surgeons. I also got the chance to do some health teaching for the clients and their families before and after surgery. 

The staff  and management in the unit where I was assigned where very professional. They helped me grew as a nursing student. They helped me prepare on how to be a real nurse. 

The hardest part of being in a surgical unit was that it needs lots of expertise. 

I enjoy being with a multi-cultural environment and strong dynamic of professional people not only nurses but also the entire health care team.

Overall, my experience working at Sunnybrook has been relatively positive. The team is supportive, and there is a strong sense of collaboration among staff. However, like many hospitals, staffing shortages are a challenge, and we often work short-staffed, which can be stressful for both employees and patients.

Given the size of the hospital, I wish it was more technologically advanced. We still rely on paper charting and paper medication records, which feels outdated compared to other hospitals. Upgrading to a more modern system would improve efficiency and patient care.

Additionally, parking is expensive compared to other hospitals in the area, which adds an unnecessary financial burden on staff. Having a PSW on the unit would also be a great addition, as it would allow nurses to focus more on nursing-specific tasks.

While there are areas for improvement, I do appreciate the opportunity to work here and hope to see positive changes in the future

Depends on what unit you are assigned to. But in general, Sunnybrook is a good place to work at. They provide continuing education opportunities for all staff for which your tuition fee is paid. Additionally, you meet a lot of good people at work. It is stressful when the unit is short of staff but realistically speaking, all hospitals are short of nurses right now. They provide trainings and if you still don't feel confident after your training, you can request for extra training days. If you ever get injured, inside or outside work, they will require you to fill out forms. Remember though, the forms they require you to submit can always be reimbursed. They do not advertise this but it's good to know that you have this option.

2. Every time every year our company changed their machine so we have to learn new company policy and protocol
3. Management is very easy to work with they listen to you and you have something to say
4. Are companies in Multicultural so you get every nationality and religion there and it's a great place to work
5. The hardest part of our job sometime is when we don't understand our patients when we do rounds or they don't speak the language it's very hard to communicate sometimes and if you don't have an interpreter
6. The most enjoyable part of her job is when you go in and everybody can get along with each other and you have there's also Christmas parties and birthdays and stuff and everybody gets along it is a great company to work for

There is no such thing as a typical day. Every day is different. Some days are very hectic and busy whereas other days are relaxing and easy. Aside from the very little room to advance and ongoing ageism, I have learnt many life skills as well as meet a number of fantastic people who are outgoing in many ways. I have learnt to focus and prioritize my work, not allow conflicts in the work environment affect my work or myself as an individual. The hardest part about the job in the beginning was battling through the constant bullying, racism, hate towards my personal beliefs, being belittled, etc,. Even though I did go through a rough patch, I am still thankful for it because I have learnt to disregard the ignorant, arrogant co-workers. The best part of working would have to be working for a specific physician. He is truly an amazing person and is fantastic physician.

Meet with pm's and internal clients to discuss planning and corporate space requirements. Attend meetigns with consultants, contractors etc. Reviw rports, and contractural document with regards to comliance with schedules and costs.
What I learned: woring within this type of organization does not provide you with the autonomy or freedom to use the skills and abilities that you have to offer. It is very structure oriented and not subject to too much change from within.
Hardest part of the job was the inability to make a difference.
Most enjoyable part was the people I worked with and acted as mentor too. It was great to see them grow in ability and to move on.

Worked there for 4 years in a job a loved. Turns out the person doing the best job is the one who gets let go and the person doing a poor job, always late, poor communicator gets to keep theirs. Management wasnt supportive of concerns of a person with over 20 years experience over a inexperienced, younger person who always complains. Isnt it about getting the work done properly.
Underhanded HR department who makes these terrible choices without informing the direct supervisor of the workers. People left in a lurch. Makes the whole department look bad, concerned about quality of research data coming out of a World Class hospital!!! 
Everyone left on edge for their jobs. I was proud to work there until this happened
