I worked at Sunwest for a long time, and at first I really enjoyed it, but it soon became a very toxic environment. Upper management will “state” they care about their employees, but you will soon realize that is NOT the case. Their actions will definitely prove otherwise. There are many “leaders” that are extremely toxic and inappropriate to their staff, and when you bring it to “management” nothing will ever get done, as you are just a number to them. You only ever get 3 sicks days a year, so fingers crossed you don’t get sick more than that, or you will be SOL. And it takes you 5 years to occur those 3 days. If you request any time off it will be denied unless you have vacation time. So here’s to hoping your children never get sick.

You don’t get raises unless you keep asking them or threaten to leave. And if they deem you a valuable employee, you may get a $.50 raise, but then you’ll have it over your heads that “they did you a favor and that you are at your cap!”

The suits down the hallway make all the decisions, but don’t communicate anything with each other, which ultimately adds more work to their employees. There is little to know recognition but again when they finally do – they’re doing YOU a favor.

This job post may sound super inviting, but take caution, there is no truth to the promises they make.

The job will look good on a resume – but not good for long term as it cripples your mental health. If you can avoid – I would!!

My overall experience at Sunwest was good. Although I had a bit of a rough start, once my approach with management became less defensive I really thrived. 

Management can come across rigid but that’s due to certain responsibilities. If they believe in you they’re very understanding and supportive. They helped me grow and provided leadership opportunities once I proved myself capable.

The CSS team was truly wonderful to work with, amazing, smart and supportive group.  The high turnover can make things stressful at times with extra work load but the team was really great with sharing responsibility and getting things done. I will miss working with ladies and getting to know them personally.

Overall  the staff in the building ( art, production)is really friendly and personable.

The Sales team is really great, once you understand the personality dynamics they’re very down to earth but professional. My account manager really was the best I must say, respectful, kind, smart, and  funny, great with making work feel a little less stressful. I’ll miss working with him a lot.

I was an employee for 6 years at this company. I only received one raise the entire time. That was under the previous HR. Back then, I was treated fairly. There was always alot of overtime but the crew I worked with was awesome and made the time pass pleasantly.
 I miss working there for that reason and the beautiful forest right outside the building where I could walk on my breaks and unwind. 

 The current HR plays favourites, and treats people like garbage who have different values than she does. The company times your bathroom breaks, try to make you stay on premises during your breaks so that they can make you work through them. They let equipment leak chemicals onto the floor in backrooms where no tours take place and they don't really care about the health of their employees. Only how much time you are willing to sacrifice to the company while your family life is put on the sidelines. 

Your coworkers are great to work with, you can make great connections. You can also make great relationships with your clients and account managers. 

The company and upper management does not care about their people, financially, physically or mentally. You get 3 sick days a year, it will never be more .. 2 weeks paid vacation and after 5 years of service you get three. Very low salary expectations that are not align with todays market, with no annual increases or performance increase either when your review is, if you get anything the top Increase you will get is 75 cents, unless management likes you and you’ll get more, they want you to keep your wages hush as half the company is underpaid. 
 No promotions unless someone quits or gets fired.

If you’re needing a job for starting out this place gives you good experience for your 
resume but it’s not long term. 

Excellent company to work for. Team first, welcoming attitude from the moment I started working. Awesome culture in the front office and great working conditions. 

Customer is service is top priority and we are all trained and encouraged to meet those expectations. 

Fast paced, always something new going on to learn while on the job. 

Management supports and encourages bright ideas, Kaizens, etc. from employees and hosts events throughout the year like Staff Awards, employee functions, bbq/pizza lunches, which shows that they want to give back to their staff. 

Lots of different types of jobs available and I would recommend this employer to anyone who is looking for work from manufacturing to admin/customer service work.

Fast paced environment where hard work and dedication is strongly recognized.  Great management support, encourages ALL to come up with bright ideas to continuously improve.  Company is recognized and respected in the industry for its customer service and quality products. 

Fun environment to work and very supportive co-workers.

Great company perks like monthly bbq's, pizza days, staff appreciation functions, and formal awards dinner.  Bonuses are handed out based on profitability.

Came here from another manufacturer.  Other place was good but time for a change.  Surprised by some of the reviews, but went for interview.  Good interview, made me feel like they wanted me here.  Employee I met was super nice and helpful and liked her job.  Have been here for almost a year.  Went to company Christmas party and they gave out about 30 or 40 awards to people here 5 years or longer.  My experience is good and my advice is go interview and decide for yourself.  Most of us can tell right away if a place is good or bad and has warning signs.   No regrets.

Sunwest is a great company to work for - I have moved up within this company over my career - many opportunities for advancement if you have the right attitude. Customer service is top priority, both internally and externally.

Lots of overtime available for all during peak times, and during slower times there is cross training and kaizens to be a part of. Lean manufacturing is important to the company, so everyone is drawn upon to bring their bright ideas to the table.

Management listens to ideas and always striving to improve themselves and the organization.

On site gym, flu shots, pizza days and summer BBQ's show they care.

Sunwest has been a tremendous company to work for.
They always give you the tools you need to succeed in your position regardless of where you are working within the plant. 
They make work feel like home and they become your family.
They have lots of fun activities and they recognize your good work.
Sunwest has great core values and they stick to them. If you have a bright idea they will review and implement if feasible. 

I would recommend this work place to anyone.
