I worked part-time as a lube technician for a short while. I believe my experience there would not reflect a typical lube technitian's day or experience. However, what I can say is work on the lube crew was busy, always changing and more challenging. The hours were long, but the staff was mostly great. As a full-time  laborer, I start working at the shop at 6:00 am and spend the better part of my day sweeping, taking out garbage, and doing other various cleaning and maintenance tasks. I normally work 11 hours a day, five days a week. I learned the work ethic of a construction company. My experience with the management staff was mostly positive. For the most part they were very understanding and respectful, while staying professional and efficient. The hardest part of the job for me was the feeling of being insignificant and overlooked, the lack of a routine or process, the monotony, the long hours, and the lack of a challenge. What I did enjoy was the understanding and pro-active approach of Sureway and it's staff.

Bruderhiem Plant is terribly unorganized. Ran by inexperienced Supervision. Not a good place to gain maintenance experience. Typical day as an electrician involved driving around unable to complete daily task due to lack of materials. Third party electrical contractors run the show and do not want to give any information due to their job security(old boys club).  Very unsafe, no safety culture. Untrained heavy duty equipment operators driving around. No proper trainning on Loto procedures. I watched a crane drive into power lines with no consequences and swept under the table. Expected to work outside on tall structures during lightning storms.  Promised long time employment with lots of work but laid off due hard economic times. Actual workers are extremely nice and work there for lack of other unemployment opportunities.

Wake up before dawn, in the colder months go home in darkness. It was a typical construction job. My coworkers were rough individuals and difficult to get along with. A lot of "tough-guy" attitudes, although sensitive to any rebuke.
I learned how to endure being outside in almost any condition. Worked outside in almost any weather, except for extremes like pouring rain, lightning and -40 cold.
I learned how to keep a consistent schedule of getting up at 5am and working all day, only to get home and do it all again. I learned a lot of safety protocols and the basics of operating equipment.
There were a lot of expectations of "get it done" and often projects with poor planning. Be halfway through a task, then have to restart because the instructions were wrong. Or given a task without being given proper instruction.
I figured out how to deal with judgmental, temperamental and all around difficult people. I can handle anyone now.

Sureway boasts equal opportunity but you'd be hard pressed to find that in their preventative maintenance for off-road machines, especially as a woman.  Favoritism reigns in volatile, power abusing management structure.  HR is manipulated and silenced which makes it difficult to approach situations in a professional way, which led to many situations to deteriorate. 
Everyone is expendable at the drop of a dime, and this company does not value family one bit. 

The shop is impressive though, most repairs can be done in house and there is a solid group of employees that do value seeing their peers succeed and are happy to help them get there.  The company has an incredible amount of knowledge and expertise and it truly is unfortunate to let an "old school mentality" shadow that.  With new management coming in, I can see it changing but weeding out the old will take time.  

I'd check back in 5-10 years.

Sureway is a great place if you like it. You can work hard, go the extra mile if you want more hours, learn as much as you can.

You will only move up if a certain peson likes you in the shop, management will dislike employees for seemingly arbitrary reasons and no amount of hard work and dedication will prove otherwise. You will hear screaming and berating from across the shop on a weekly basis.

The fellow people in the shop are a great group of guys, friendly, willing to show you what you need.  Lots of turn over, don't bother learning someone's name for the first few weeks. The shop is new and able to do just about all repairs in house.

Terrible management, good place

The pay is surprisingly good for just being a labourer with an amazing benefits package. Even some of the crews are very easygoing and will give you a decent amount of slack. Overall, it’s an amazing company due to the opportunities it creates. The only reason I set it to 4 stars is you are expected to basically have no life outside of work. You’re expected to work a minimum of 10 hours a day 5 days a week with an additional 8 on saturdays. Unless you’ve worked in a similar industry prior, you’re going to be exhausted and sore by the first pay check (which will literally never go away until you get more than just Sunday off). If the hours were slightly more flexible, it would probably be the best job I could ever ask for.

Trying to get a job done with equipment that has 40000 hrs on it/ trying to please the many managers with unrealistic expectations

If you think work should come before family you will do alright here, if you take a day off for your sick children rather than go to work for something a monkey could do you will be the first to go

Lower than average pay with houred out equipment what else can I say

Great company and a pleasure to work for and an awesome crew I worked with.
Made it easy to come to work every day

I really didn't have any stress. Sureway takes care of their employees

Working for Sureway was easy, I always knew what was expected of me and when I wasn't sure I had no problem asking.  Crew members were also very helpful to the new hires

Most of the time it was go, go, go! That made my day go by fast

What is the best part of working at the company?
All the staffs are responsible to assist each other. The project I worked was very busy and long hours time and I really was interested to achieve its goal so is done with my coworkers.
I wish i will join them.

Working in harmony  in the field with all kinds of manpower and machine operating staff

All the leaders and administration staffs were great

It was at the time of my interview because the way I interviewed

Had a pretty good crew ,  had the odd one but most were willing to help and make a strong crew, give pointers answer questions. Forman were awesome it was my fist job ever in construction. Trained me on tractor disc, double barrel, every packet they had and rock truck traffic control Loved going to work went in smiling left smiling. 
Had pretty good benefits and season end bonus. If you were willing to work had a good attitude they'd train you on anything they thought you were capable. Put us up in nice condos. All and all can't say a bad thing about it.
