What is the best part of working at the company?
Management supports in each home are consistent and effective.  Team cohesion is strongly encouraged. All staff input is considered and  included in terms of input to the greater goal of community inclusion.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Part time staff minimum hours of work expectations (up to 30 hrs weekly).. Relief hours are more manageable and flexible.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment/culture is based on location and teams however, overall teams have been changed and dynamic has become  more professionally focused since pandemic began. Managers are quite supportive of team positivity and encourage it during monthly meetings.  Team issues are addressed quickly once identified.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Part time work- Client support, daily living training and overall follow up of daily routines and cleaning maintenance of environment.

I am a people oriented individual. I have many experiences interacting in person and on the phone with a high volume of clients including disabled clients. I am fast learner, hard worker and can manage work load in a effective timely manner with accuracy and can also assess immediate needs of where service is neccessary. I can adapt in any environment and maintain good working relationships with co-workers. I have a Social Service Worker Diploma and I have experience working with MS word, email and internet. I speak and write fluent English and can also speak Hindi and Bangali. I am dedicated in what I do.

There are some senior management staff who are not positive towards the frontline staff. They have some connection with couple of staff. They treated them friendly, beyond this, other staff are under work pressure and they live in under job insecurity. Pay was not bad, but always under staff and more workload without any appreciation made situation more stressful and service quality goes deteriorated. 

Working for surex is one of the worst places u could've work for , number one the management team is harriable if ur not there friends and neglect the client's ur not part of the team.!!!!!!work and not being paid for the time u've worked for....its just a mess

Surex was a good place to work initially, however power struggle in management and their a use of power over employees make the place very stressful. Where staff members are having heart attack on the job and others are suffering emotionally from the stress...

Work environment can be slow, things can change quickly without notice, friendly people to work with, common sense, communication, and good documentation skills an asset.

If you are new to the field and want to gain experience, Surex is really great. The co-workers I had were very honest and easy to work with. They were always available to answer any questions I had.

No work life balance, you’re treated like a machine.  Hard to get time off. They want you to work and work. Pay is good. Some managers are amazing, some power trip.

I enjoy working there as the position is challenging and varied even though this is a contract position that requires a long commute for me.

I loved my job as a counsellor. Hardest part of my job was having to deal with other staff members who didn't follow policy and procedure, health and safety rules or client programs.
