What is a typical day like for you at the company?
First half is fast paced due to the distribution of food and the number of clients are increasing each day, second half is mostly fund raising and getting InTouch with the community

I was working with different people and I enjoyed the crowd at the work environment. I didn't mind the noise and the crowd at all.

I enjoyed the environment so much because of the surrounding people which made me feel safe.

The most challenge in this job was tying the plastic bags because I had problem with the tactile. However, I learned very quick and more keen at doing simple and direct tasks.

A typical day at the food bank is that you be there for 9am and you wait until 10am for a speach and what each of the people that work there do  or volunteer-my co-workers were everyone that  volunteer and the hardest part of it was remembering where stuff goes and when to take breaks and the most joyale part of the job was being on line where you see the ticket they have and you see how much of the food you give them

I absolutely loved working for the Surrey food bank. The work that we do on a daily basis is rewarding and contributes to the community in a positive way. The management team works hard is open and responsive to criticisms and is there for you and your time of need. After coming out of a toxic work environment, I was happy to find that the Surrey food bank was the complete opposite.  

This place is very disadvantaged, and hard to deal with. It’s hard to distribute food to the poor, but not impossible. I rate this place 3/5 for trust. Once you see for yourself, the hardships of poverty are never forgiven in this world. Just a humble thought.

A typical day would be handing out food to people who really need it. I learned to respect what I have, and not take for granted those things. Management is decent, and hardest part of the job would be keeping up the speed. The most enjoyable part would be the feeling that you're helping someone or a family survive.

Huge turnover in paid employees. Horrible management at the top. Seems to have been taken over by woke political agendas. Rudderless direction... Very sad. 

Helped making hampers for the people who would come by and pick them up. Handed out hampers, desserts, breads, and candies or anything extra we had. Worked a bit in the office as well. Sorted out food in bins. Guided the people as well. Worked with funny and caring people.

During my time here, I got to meet people that inspired me and made me feel so blessed. As a distributor, I met many customers that made me think for the better. I got to record names and take calls from upcoming customer. We got to work as a team and make the environment a better place.

We distribute foods to people according to their choice and have a little chat with them. I enjoyed talking to other volunteers and they are so nice and even met new friends.
