As a field service technician, you can be tasked with a wide variety of work based on skill level, from as basic as preventative maintenance  in accordance with the CSA 282 guideline, to as challenging as commissioning systems that require paralleling and SCADA. If you are open and honest about your skill level, you will be hard pressed to find yourself in a situation where you are being challenged with work that is outside your comfort level. There is plenty of work at all skill levels to be done.

Ideal environment for those who are new to the industry and want exposure to many different makes/models to develop your skill set.

The company has seen a lot of rapid growth over recent years, and there is a struggle to keep up with the demand for service, this is evident on the technician level as well as management.

Hardest part of the job, is if you are skilled and a problem solver, you will find an endless amount of problems that could use your help. This can be overwhelming, but is apart of what brings the core team together. 

Most enjoyable part of the job, is getting to troubleshoot/diagnose a wide array of conditions and a variety of equipment. Endless amounts of opportunity for honing your diagnostic ability.

The company lacks structure, training, and clear communication. Technicians often feel unprepared, undervalued, and unsupported. The work environment does not prioritize safety or professional development, making it difficult to grow or feel confident in daily tasks.


I was promised the world, I quit my long-standing career to come to this unorganized mess of a company. There is very little training before you are put on the field and expected to know everything the first day. The management is horrible, and the new service manager has absolutely no control with how he speaks to you. If you have been there for a while, and they like you, then your set. The hours are horrible and are never the same, the only benefit to the long hours are you are paid from, the moment you leave the house till the moment you get home. I would recommend not using your money to purchase anything company related and get a company credit card before any purchases are made.

What really makes the difference here is the actual vibe in the office. It doesn’t feel stuffy or overly formal like some other places. The teaam of people are great and willing to jump in and help you out. Management is pretty chill too; they treat you like a human being rather than just a number, which is huge for me. good stability and a lack of office drama.

Had mostly good days with this company, typical day would involve on site testing and repairs of emergency generators. Personal services truck, tools and diagnostic equipment included which was nice. Management however totally forgets you exist with many business units in operation. I would go days without hearing from anyone when technical questions and concerns came up. Customers also felt this way.

Pretty relaxed, but then unexpectedly uncertain.

Meet with supervisor, review plan, execute, repeat.

The people here are great to work with. I don't find anyone rigid, and co workers understand that sometimes you need a little give-and-take. It makes collaborating so much smoother and less stressful. I have really appreciated how the people I work with understand that everyone has different needs and work styles.

I’ve been here coming up on 3yrs. I started from the bottom and I’ve worked my way up! I wear many hats, which is great as it’s never boring. When someone doesn’t know where to go, they come to me! 
We do a lot of things for our employees! Our company is flexible and understanding!
When you do your job and do it well, you will be recognized!

T&T is a good company to work for, management encourages communication, cohesion and they are helpful. It’s the only company I have worked for in the recent past that provides, supports and supplies all tools required to execute a job in the field.
Most other companies ask you to bring your own tools.

I had to move and could not stay on with the territory available. 
Everyone was supportive and helpful, even when everyone is busy - which is a great thing or problem to have with lots of hours available. If another chance to be hired on with T&T comes up, would like to join them again.
