Horrible manager/doc.If she doesn’t like you she will get rid of you by any means necessary. Even lie for the union to agree with her firing you. Horrible place to work. Said I wanted her job. Even had to get union involved as she didn’t want to give
Me my vacation pay. Horrible place to work. Even would make you feel bad and have you stay for 24hrs shift on 2 occasions this happen to me. After everything I did for them and this is what she does to me. Horrible management/ doc

my co workers I worked with where pleasant hard working , residents where also pleasant. overall the general complaint his the management unprofessional and when conflicts as to be dealt with his done poorly and sloppy. when u are present to see a person in a management portion at a facility no knowing what starting salary a employee starting wage doesn't inform the correctly  wage , that gives me pause

Management did not care about their staff. Shifts were never rotated, therefore no work/life balance. All departments were interfering in each other’s areas. Kitchen staff unqualified for their positions. Meals were substandard and cold at best. Housekeeping are lazy and spend more time on breaks then doing their job. They always have a bedbug problem and try to cover it up.

Very toxic and disorganized.   Staff are threatening each other with physical  violence, majority of the staff in all departments have zero qualifications.  The general manager gives out inconsistent information and is more focused on shopping and working from home then actually managing the residence effectively.  

I was the administrator at the Walford. 
A typical day was filled with paperwork, meetings with resident families. 
The management was great!!
The hardest part of the job was the seperation from the residents, through death or advancement to long term care.
The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing the residents, getting along with staff. It was like a family.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Did my placement there learnt a lot for psw.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
For me it was paperwork and adjusting to 12 hour shifts.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was a very friendly place to learn client were also amazing

After working 10 years left my job because of drama and gossip. Too much work for little pay for good workers. No 
Respect from management or some staff.
Bad for you mental health. Too many lazy workers talking and socializing instead of working. Seniority means nothing.  

Incompetent management especially the heath office manager. Extremely unorganized environment, night staff sleep on shift and do not complete there jobs. 

Management is terrible, trying to get anything from them, withholding pay also. There is an incredible amount of miscommunication. Employees not qualified to do what they’re doing daily which is a huge risk and can lead to legal issues. DOC is only a psw, drama between employees. The residents made the job nice though.

I have been working at Walford Thunder Bay for two months and I really enjoy coming to work. All the staff is supportive and helpful. If you cannot make to a shift, you can call and between staff members they can accommodate and cover the shift.
