Typical Brunch Weekend I am working with some of the most interesting, kindest people I have ever met, in a very large and very busy, cultured venue. Serving guests from all over the world with the highest level of customer service and welcoming them to the city of Toronto and giving them advice on how to explore it. As a Manager I am providing solutions to my teammates when things become stressful and hectic or problems occur. Helping my teammates has been the most rewarding, knowing what they experience and how I can be of help, and seeing the impact I've made on their day immediately. If I can help make their job easier, it means they can give the best care to our guests.

I don’t usually write reviews about my workplaces, but The Drake truly deserves it! From day one, the positive atmosphere here has been undeniable. I genuinely look forward to coming in every day, and the culture they’ve created is something really special. People are so invested in this place that they even come in on their days off just to say hi. After over 10 years working in hospitality, I can honestly say I’ve never experienced such genuine care and support from the management. They truly prioritize the well-being of their team, and it shows in the kindness and professionalism of everyone I work with. It’s rare to find a workplace where people aren’t just coworkers, but a true supportive community. 
The Drake is a place that really stands out!

This place is filled with amazing people who try so hard and deserve to succeed.  Unfortunately though, the owners do not have the best interests of those hard working employees in mind.  BOH workspaces and storage are cramped and dangerous.  Low staffing levels make for a terrible work life balance.  Employees regularly go without proper breaks and work extremely long shifts yet never get paid overtime.  They advertise health benefits however drop hours in the “low season” therefore making you ineligible for those benefits.

Fantastic place to work. The brand culture is exciting, and there is always something interesting and creative taking place whether it be art, music, or hospitality related, this company always goes above and beyond. I've learned so much and excelling in hospitality and guest services during my time the the Drake.

Overall, working at The Drake Hotel was a great experience for me to learn and grow as a cook. Being able to be a versatile cook was great, because I was able to to share the responsibility handling the line, parties, and prep service. The people are great and very friends, everyone brings their own flair into the kitchen.

They wanted me to start immediately and gave me a schedule for training but I let them know that I had just given my 2-week notice to my previous company and will not be fully available to work until then. They let me go after a few weeks because of this even though I mentioned this during the interview ...

some amazing managers and co-workers. I enjoyed the team I worked with at each location (i worked at 3). It was a great place for me to develop my skills early on, but there are some obvious flaws in the way things are run. Didn't like the corporate staff very much and general company goals. 

The drake was a difficult place to work.  Management was unfocused and quite honestly I’m at a loss as to what they actually do.  Hours are long, overtime is unthanked, it’s more of a popularity contest then how good you are at your job.

The Drake was a wonderful experience , always something fun happening. Interesting people and lots of artistic events.
The food is pretty good but kind of small for what you pay.
