If you want to get worked into the ground, treated poorly and get paid under industry standard, look no further. This company is run by people who don't care about safety, quality of work, or the law. In all of their contracts they keep a clause allowing them to let anyone go for any reason at any time, with no notice. They use this clause constantly to fire people, and they never have the decency to give anyone an actual reason. Management makes promise after promise but does not keep up their end of the bargain, ever. They'll just come up with an excuse as to why you don't deserve whatever they promised you. The culture here is very poor. There are 2 young, inexperienced foremen in particular who barely do any work, but take all the credit when things are done right. When things aren't done right, they blame their laborers. These foremen clock in their laborers, and will deduct half an hour of pay for lunch every day, despite you not taking a lunch. At the end of the day, they are just another revolving door company. Nobody in their right mind should work for these clowns.

Former employee here, I found my time with The Gardener to be a bit of a mixed bag. Unfortunately the cons outnumbered the pros though. The owner and upper management were very friendly, approachable, and communication was great. Crew leaders however, left much to be desired. In many cases, directions/instructions were unclear, if not completely absent. Expectations on job sites were high, but little to no training was offered. Days were long, which is to be expected with a landscaping company, but breaks were hard to come by. One of the only consistencies at The Gardener was the amount of shop gossip getting passed around regularly, and I feel comfortable saying this company had more cliques than my high school. 

Turnover here is high, The Gardener always seems to be looking for bodies. Their job postings on Indeed.com list the wage as “From $18/hour” but unless the couple dollars above minimum is make or break for you, I recommend resisting the urge to hit that “Apply” button. 

In the past four months I have become skilled at mowing patterns with a variety of mowers.  Pruning, cultivating, trimming, edging, weeding, power-raking, planting both bulbs and seedlings.  Love working out in the elements, no matter the weather conditions.  Enjoy the physical part of the job as well as the satisfaction of seeing our hard work pay off over time as the properties become more lush and healthy-looking.  We are a very small team but we get along well, we all have differing skill sets which is great.

I did a few years as a maintenance foreman. It was a great place to work and there was no micro managing from the boss. I would have stayed indefinitely, but you can't support a family on their wages, and the benefits package could use some work (at the time I was employed). Winter is on call, with no salary so income during the winter months would be an issue. There was also no real way to get hours in during the winter months unless the weather permitted it. 

The job itself was so so. Management was real nice to your face but not so much when you ask to get paid for all the extra hours you work to get the jobs done so they can keep driving their brand new trucks around. I strongly recommend that if you’re stuck and are actually thinking about working for these people then you better take your contract to a lawyer and make sure that you completely understand how they are going to screw you…. cause they’re gonna!!
And no, there’s no Vaseline provided 

A typical day would be going from one site to another to maintain personal yards. Was able to work daily in Extreme heat with out exhaustion. 

The hardest part was to work in the heat but you learn to pace your self.

I mostly enjoyed pushing my self physically( yep it was an amazing work out that I got get paid for) I loved being able to prove my self to my peers. To have consumers come out to compliment on work being done.

This landscaping company is located just outside of Peterborough and my opinion it was a  total waste of time being there. This employer is not urgently hiring. The company is only looking for cheap disposable employees with some experience. The hiring ads are highly questionable. Don't waste your time applying as it's just not worth to show up at all. 

The job itself was fun and I love how busy it was and doing different things he each day. However the management didn’t take time to train you on different things just expected you to know and some stuff without proper training could be extremely dangerous. I found that they favored certain employees and everyone wasn’t treated fairly .

it was a good place to work at decent hours decent pay nice people i learned how to use the machines like the riding mower or to identify plants it was enjoyable because everyone there was nice and had a positive attitude to working the hardest part was in the winter the plowing

Worst company I have ever worked for would not recommend to anyone to go work ther or have work done by them. I got stabbed in the back by the owners and lied to was left fighting to pay for bills and keep a roof on my head a month before Christmas.
