What is the best part of working at the company?
They are the most attentive employer to employee needs I've ever worked for.  They are more than FAIR!  They go beyond for their employees.  They have expectations, you deliver and everyone is well cared for.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Winter snow can make it difficult to get to work.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Absolutely excellent.  You are always in the view of the public. If anyone of them asks you a question you are educated to be able to answer them.  They are always impressed.  You don't just know your own job...you can direct public questions to the right source for correct info. Everyone helps everyone.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy.  My position was reservationist for the Dining Room and it was always busy- before covid shutdown.  I often would shift my lunchbreak to accommodate the business of people wanting to reserve for Afternoon Tea, Lunch, or Dinner.  I was happy to do it.  Always left for home knowing I had a good job and I'd done it well.

Working at the restaurant. Most are very young co-workers in high school and students for seasonal many doing co-op. Very fast-paced when busy in summer. They love micromanaging so be aware of having someone always watching you and each one has a different way of doing things. The dress code is very picky if you use large earrings or something colorful it is not allowed as also you have to cover your tattoos and no colorful nail polish. No tips and there is an unclear process for the tips that people leave at the table.  Since there are many young people there is a lot of gossip going on and kind of feels like always being watched. 
I have to say that the place is gorgeous, takin care of every detail,  and nice to have free tickets but as the working environment not that much. 

This is an excellent place to work. The management are very professional and courteous. There is a minimum wage of $15 per hour which is above the Provincial minimum wage. If you have school or another job they try to work around your schedule. The one major drawback is that it is very seasonal, you can expect fulltime hours May-September and then December. There are permanent fulltime positions amd there are many employees who have worked there 30+ years. If you are not a student, management will try to find you another position so that you can keep working through the offseason as long as you are will to a tempory transfer to another department. I have work there in a part-time and fulltime capacity for the past 14 years and do not regret any of it.

They're willing to teach, but will expect you to do everything their way regardless of your reason. They also give the bare legal minimum amount of breaks and expect you to work at full capacity all the time. On top of that, if you slip up a few times, they'll threaten to fire you if you aren't perfect from there on. Conversations are usually just gossip so try not to reveal too much about yourself.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people i worked with and some of the benefits that go along with working at the Gardens.  Meeting the guests was quite enjoyable and to find out where they were from.   Especially the tour guide company called, " I love Victoria "

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The drive to work in the morning.

The start times of the different shifts differed extensively, worked on a seignior system, 
Very interested in old school classic customer service which was excellent in grasping the basic skills. 
Some of the hardest jobs would be sometimes the longest stints parking cars or in the bus lot and staying busy when not engaged.

I worked at the gardens for several years in a couple different departments and everyone was great. You will find in departments that have a lot of younger employees it can become quite clique-y, however that is the only main downside to a company that takes care of its employees and pays quite well.

Coworkers and management are fantastic, I really enjoyed the majority of my time working there. The customers primarily being tourists brings obvious downsides. 90% of customers were fine, but the remaining 10%  were extremely rude and entitled. Amazing summer job for students with options to work over winter break as well.
