I enjoy the work I do, though it helps to be self motivated.  Day shift is quite rigid and fast paced as you are pushed to produce by management who do not really understand the entire area.  Afternoon shift is more laid back, but in some cases the work ethic of the employees is much lower.

A great place to learn lots of things in manufacturing as I've learned how to use various tools from grinders, micrometers, Hi-Pot testing, and even some basic welding.

Management has a bit of a bully mentality where they do not seem to listen to floor staff, and instead insist on things being ran a certain way.  Often they do not understand the process which can lead to setbacks and the cycle continues...

People are good to work with as they are friendly and down to earth.  Can be challenging if you have a high work ethic or attention to detail as some other employees clearly do not care.

No real advancement options, if you are hired as a general labourer you may learn other roles and even improve and use new machines but you will not be paid for stepping up and there seems to be no future or promotion

The company does not care about you what so ever the guys that run it CANT RUN IT they all have been switching eachothers jobs so they don't have to lift a finger and being so lazy for years nobody would ever hire them  the bosses are all friends from school the only ones making money are the supervisors and office people this is why they are always hiring because they pay there employees nothing it all goes to the supervisors and office staff who do absolutely nothing they sit in there meetings and figure out nothing I've never seen a company like this and I'm older it makes me sick out of 10 people 7 people watch the 3 that work and the 3 that do all the work are picked on cause they know they are the workers so they pressure them cause those people have good ethics and they know they will do all the work and get paid the least and the 7 that don't work are not bugged to work at all they get overtime and paid way more so if you don't work you get the best jobs and paid the most and if your a hard worker you get the hardest jobs the heavyest jobs and paid the least don't ever work here they don't give a s$+& about you as long as the boss drives his new car and truck has a nice home and hasn't worked since the 80s and all his friends that work there haven't worked since the 80s as well if you don't believe this review go work there you will find out

Would normally come to work and check the demand in the system for products of the fabrication shop.  I would check my emails for any questions from affiliates and our manufacturing center.  Would do my daily routine of assigning work for the bulk cable cutters, cold lead staff, and packaging department.  Would assist the fabrication manager with whatever task he needed help on.  Would go to the shop and help with putting away or moving 50 lb bulk cable coils.  End of the day I would check over the bulk cable cut sheets to see if there was any adjustments, and I would input the materials and labor for any cables that failed.

I learned about the companies products, and got work experience in the office.  

The management and co workers were fair and easy to work with.

I didn't find anything very difficult as I was just doing paperwork and scheduling with a little bit of manual labor.

There were time I would be responsible for planning and co coordinating shipments of MI cables, or having meetings on the new inventory management system.  I enjoy planning, organizing, and coordinating.

Thermon management has no idea what they are doing.. everyone gives you a different answer so you never know what the rules really are. Out on the floor the supervisors hit on you if your a female and give you attitude if your a male which puts the overall moral poor. The wages are all scattered everywhere and you are not paid anywhere near what you should for the amount of work you have to do. You are bullied if you give your opinion or say something they don’t like and if you miss a day or are sick because of a family member you are treated poorly for the next week after and sent to do a job that’s not as desirable. If you get hurt on the job you are treated poorly after that and for the rest of your employment. HR treats you poorly if you hurt yourself and do nothing to help get the process of leave of absence or workers compensation cases. Poor poor place to work and I would never recommend you or any other family member or friend working there. 

I worked at Thermon for 10 months as a temp-to-hire through a placement agency.  The manager was a tryant, was extremely unprofessional and would take out personal issues on employees. Most of the office was nothing more than a gossip fest to talk down other employees or managers. Interns were treated terribly. Thermon only offers 2 sick days a year, and most of the stat holidays are not counted as the company is US run. Managers would consistently pull acts of favoritism, hang interns jobs over their heads threatening to constantly fire them and would allow personal issues affect their attitudes at work. Also hired on several interns with no intention of ever hiring them to full time. 
All in all, this job was a cesspool gossip and negativity.

A typical day at Thermon was always busy and the work was not backbreaking.  I worked with a ton of awesome individuals who always were welcoming and never dull. I met one girl who I regret losing touch with. It's been 5 years and I haven't had 1 true friend since her. I miss her very much. I learned to work with others completing production but I also learned a good work and life balance too. The management were all very kind and I am actually still quite upset not being there. The culture was diverse but a good fun environment always. The hardest part was well nothing. I loved that job. The most enjoyable was the work! It was a great job in my opinion.

One review mentioned the supervisors do nothing. This is true. They spend time chatting with people in their area. A supervisor can also change how they want things done every shift, especially day. One day it's "Do it this way" next day, "Why are you doing it this way? stop that, do it this way." This way being the way you were doing it the first time. 

They will try and tell you every job requires previous experience. when in reality, they have a spot they need filled, that's where you will go.

The regular workers are very nice. They aren't if they have to train you. 

They take safety seriously.

Choose your shift wisely as that will always be your shift.


There is no way to advance working here. They offer very little in the way of pay. 
Management does not respect nor acknowledge factory labourers. Constant maintenance is needed on most machines, they are never running properly. Safetey issues are never ending, and are usually swept under the rug. There is favouritism and outright neglect to certain employees. Training is minimal, you can expect to see temps training temps. I do not recommend this job to anyone who is g desperate

The management, we're excellent I never had an issue at work and miss the place so much I try not to think about it..as I go from awful job to backbreaking awful job. I don't think.I will ever be as happy at a workplace since working there. I have really regretted not being there still I was learning so much on a daily basis. Now this was a good place to work.

I really enjoyed working here. Most of my co-workers were great people to work with, supervisors were great to work with, the company has bbq's throughout the year,golf tournament, xmas party, bonuses, all in all a great place to work. Only reason I left was I moved away for health reasons and closer to family.
