Great company to work for - able to balance work and homelife.

Participated in the 'summer flex' program allowing employees to work extra time during the week to be able to use it towards an early day off, or even a day off if enough hours were accumulated.

IT Social Committee - IT outings 3 times of the year (Christmas Kris Kringle, bowling, etc ... ). IT department would vote on a great and reasonable place to all mingle and have a great evening out with each other!

Employee benefits were exceptional. Different plans were provided and employees were able to choose which was suitable to their needs with Manulife Financial.

I enjoyed working with the company as there were numerous times to be able to interact with other employees when supporting their requests / needs to be able to get their job running (be it their computer not working, telephone, etc., ). A very friendly atmosphere!

The hardest part of my job would be having to deal with the executives when they request the 'newest technological' hardware - to be used as a demo. My team would have to rush to be trained on the specs of the new hardware (ie. iPad) to be able to support the executives that would have them on a pilot. The IT Service Desk would receive numerous adhoc requests that we'd need to work on in a timely manner.

A day at work for me is always with expectations. Knowing what to do and getting at it daily having asked in prayer for grace to achieve set task for the day, I learned a lot about data entry and analysis. I also learned a bout following procedures per the SOP. A very vibrant management structure which sets the tone of job for the day was my experience. My colleagues were mostly females and most of them over the middle ages. They were very interesting to work with as it was all smiles always. The most enjoyable part of this job was the serene work place giving me room for creativity and rapport with colleagues. Besides, the condition of service and remuneration were competitive. The hardest part on this job was not the assigned task but with my immediate colleagues , two women who were not on talking terms. I was in the same cubicle with them and every moment I am faced with reports from either of the perceived enemy and I have to broker peace as much as possible. My joy was that I brought them to talking even though not still compatible.

Underwriting of individual life applications, policy changes and some critical illness exposure.
Great team of underwriters, friendly, fun people, good balance of hard work and enjoyment.
Hardest part of the job was meeting turn around expectations in particular for those who did not work from home and lack of balance between personal life and work.
Most enjoyable part of the job was the actual underwriting, assessing the risk, doing the research, working with the expert medical directors, providing the best possible decision, helping the agent sell the decision and knowing that the business placed.

The combination of my 5 years of cumulative professional experience in Office Management and Administration, attribute to my motivation for competing for this role. I have successfully provided administrative support to management and customers within an office environment processing reports, written correspondence, and inventory management. Through various positions as an Administrator, Mail Clerk, and Office Coordinator, I bring a strong degree of diplomacy and confidence when dealing with internal and external clients.

Terrible. No support, all they care about is recruiting and making recruits buy insurance

You are completely on your own, so whatever you would normally do in your own business

Transamerica was really a great Company to work for. The employees are appreciated, management led by example, and we all worked and played hard. A lot of fund raising was done for the community especially for United Way.
My co-workers and managment were very supportive and helpful it was a pleasure to work for them. The restructing of the department and the economic situation led to the lay off. However, would go back to work for Transamerica in a heart beat.

Answering inbound call inquiries in regards to credit card insurance. 
What I learned is that there are many things to be learned in the insurance industry and very quickly. Accuracy and attention to detail is the name of the game. 

The hardest part is persuading clients to retain their credit card insurance. 

The most enjoyable part is the overflowing joy customers receive when they hear some good news in dire situations.

-Called and processed credit card applications
-Learned to take down user information and process the application for the card to be sent out
-Worked under 1 manager (managed a team of 20 +)
-Great co workers, easy to get along with
-Hardest part of the job was to fulfill the quota
-Most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with great people

Independent insurance agent you are your own boss. Training and mentorship thoughtout your career..it is optional you choose career plan and how much money you make or how many hours you work. It is an enterpernuer opportunity.

Very positive through interview process (HR completely rocked it).  Unfortunately not an accurate reflection of day to day.

Non- management was supportive and direct.  Very goal focused.

Management had challenges providing clarity, sometimes conflicting directions due to personal bias (“all you contractors are the same…”)
