Nothing is exciting about working here. There is no real management as every "department" consists of 1 or 2 people working within it and so, everyone is responsible for their own work - which would not be such a bad thing IF, they didn't micromanage every single task. Most of the work is put on the more inexperienced person while the "department head" clicks around on their computer all day; when you ask them a question it seems as though it's a laborious task for them to help you. Very clear favoritism is shown between employees. Felt as though they were giving you tasks to do outside of the office area just so they can gossip. Tasks that should be shared among everyone is given to the newest link and no one ever dares to help. Sometimes you are reprimanded for something as minuscule and insignificant like a typo in an email. I truly wondered how they managed to do the certain tasks when they are all clearly super glued to their desks! The stress of working here got too overwhelming which forced a resignation. Honestly, this place should not look to hire people if they are unable to teach them. PLEASE train your employees how to be professional and how to SMILE because they all seem so miserable.

This position is well worth double the price, it’s all about serving the two brothers who have no idea what truck driving in the city is and be prepared to arrange LTL loads  in the weekends under huge pressure this position is been available for many years but no one could lust the stress and the ever unhappy people dealing with you. Do not waste your time this is a no, no position safety in this Company is just a office with the most unplayable people, forget about ever getting pay increase, benefits will get out of your pocket, yard is just a mess, frozen, mud, clouds of dust and pool of water, for each department there is at least two dispatchers who never did a trip even to the yard - incompetence not to mention your car, truck or trailer parking is never available, don’t take my word try for your self and soon it will be clear, very soon

Ursus Transport is a good company to work for.  There is good communication between drivers and dispatchers; drivers and the management.  The company cares as much for the employees as for the business.  The company does not operate in Northern Alberta which made my family life impossible since my family moved to Fort McMurray.  I love my job.  Long hours behind the wheel, bad weather or snow covered mountains are just my "normal day's work".   Years of driving taught me responsibility for the truck and transported goods.  I know that I can be a valuable part of any business which relies on transport.

This was a contract position. Fast pasted environment, Dead line oriented.
This was a contract with Purolitor Canada, dealing with live shipments from Air Canada and KLM. This involved clearing all paperwork with Canada Customs for a smooth transition of the merchandise from the air shipments to land transport. Making sure merchandise is accounted for and ready for land transfer.

Other as well as myself have spent several years, many stick around a long time.  Welcoming environment, multi cultural, if you are ambitious this is the place to be.  No ball and chain as long as you do your thing, and focus on your team, its been a great several years.

14 Years with the company, good working environment, free hand as long the job is done, excelent management skills, flexible hours, benefits, company lunches, good vacation structure, multicultural environment

Stay away from this company. The management is very unprofessional and the environment - toxic. 
You will be always blamed, never rewarded. Turnover is high is a short space of time.

Sometimes a slow day there when you already making the 3rd cup of coffee and in seconds it might turn into a national disaster :) you either love it or hate it.

Best job I ever had. Best team and best boss/owner. Learned a lot and the team was hardworking and strong. Best drivers and it was just all around such an amazing place.
