Not rewarding, management makes work seem like they just care how much work you can do in an hour which makes it oppressive and suffocating so expect getting burnt-out easily. Work is very, very repetitive and mundane, same tasks over and over again. 

The leadership team will give you feedback on an ongoing basis if you're not progressing but even if you go above and beyond it will never be enough, they want you to " reach your full potential" but they just gaslight you which really isn't helpful. 

If you're doing part-time expect to do more than full-time, you will find yourself working 8 days back-to-back. They basically take a lot of advantage of you if you're part-time as the company saves more money, it's ridiculous. 

No room for advancement, if you're interested in another job within the company that you have experience and credentials for the most they will do is give an interview but NO way you can move up with the scheduling coordinator job, you will be stuck cause they are super short-staffed mainly because everyone ends up quitting within a month in the end cause it is indeed a dead-end job. 

There is no work-life balance, expect to do OT especially on a Friday evening as you have to complete 4 days' worth of work before leaving because they are always short-staffed and there's always backlog, a huge red flag. There is no flexibility. 

Perks, good benefits,  they will give you work from home ( remote work ) only if you think you can work just as good as their over and above expectations the pace robots do in an hour.  I guess the coworkers are alright, a lot of collaborative efforts which is appreciated cause they expect you to do 3 person work in a day.

•	Act as a liaison between clients, who need to achieve optimal health, independence and dignity, and the various health care providers while Interacting with senior management on daily basis
•	Provides ongoing program evaluation, reporting and tracking targets on weekly and monthly basis

•	Enters service hours and adjustments to the system for clients and Community Support Worker.
•	Produces schedules and reports on regular basis, and on request of the Supervisor.
•	Interfaces with clients/caregivers, Community Support Workers, team Supervisors, Funders, Finance and other Canadian Red Cross departments.
•	Communicates/reports as required regarding client and Community Support Workers status.
•	Demonstrate judgments and tact when interacting with clients
•	Train new customer service representatives and help managers build up existing representatives’ skills

I really enjoyed the challenge in being introduced to a variety of different clients, different situations that i was thrown into, it gave me much experience as a new graduate.  I was field staff and was new to Oshawa and i really got to know the Durham Region as i travelled from whites road to New Castle to Brookland  to take care of my clients by vehicle.
i really enjoyed working with my Palitive care clients who are at their end of life as i have compationate care and was honored to be able to lift their spirits in their last days. 
I learned so much from my senior clients, some lived through the war and were from different countries and shared their stories with me and i was grateful to learn of their history.
I really enjoyed our annual christmas dinner that VHA treated us to at the Manderine chinese food restaurant.
The hardest part of the job was when my clients life ended, its not always easy to not get close to our clients , however its sometimes hard when you get to know them for such a time as they become like your family.  It was nice that the family  invited me to their parents  funerals to pay last respects as it made me feel part of their family and they had respect for me as well as a  Personel Support Worker.

I worked for VHA for 7 months. I was hired as a "full time" PSW but was only working at most, 15 hours a week. they had me driving all over the place, my clients were spread out all over north durham, which was fine, but they were not accommodating with placing me with clients in the same area one after the other, i would drive back and forth from town to town commuting 45 minutes to each client. I drove more than i worked. They weren't paying me mileage for about 3 months (which was most of my wage) and when i confronted them after receiving my bi-weekly pay check of $300 to last me for 2 weeks, which just covered my gas for the 2 weeks, they refused to pay me for the missed mileage which in the end, after i threatened to go to the labour board, was close to $2000 they owed me. The management at this company when i was employed there were rude, bullied their home care workers into being in clients home when they did not feel safe or comfortable. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

VHA is a great company to work with. I liked working with the clients I met and learning about different cultures. However, I signed up to assist with personal hygiene care, but my coordinator was also assigning me house keeping work. When I complained, I was told that if I wanted hours, that is all they have. But I knew it was a lie. They have favourites and it is very bad. 
The negative aspect is the travel distance between clients if you don't drive and being sent outside of your catchment area. I signed on for work in the downtown Toronto but was being sent all over. The travel time between clients was ridiculous, as sometimes you didn't have sufficient time to get to your client on time. The coordinators  often never listened.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I got the chance to work with people having big compassion and love with clients and a privilege to help clients who really needs help, care and love , giving the chance to feel that they are still important no matter what conditions they are facing in their present csituation.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When having colleagues who are putting you down while you are doing the right things with regards to your care 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Good  and dealing with other workers with especially to the management is really truly a great experience and privilege to work in this company 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I don’t mind of the day, I can take any day except Sunday

Typical day I would see 8-10 clients and provide them with care whether it was a catheter change or pain and symptom management for palliative clients.
I have learned a vast variety of things while working for this company and have stayed on top of the new advances in practice. As well as, completing my fundamentals of palliative care, leap, and capce programs.
Coworker were great to work with and were constantly willing to help with or cover my patients if I needed a day off.
The hardest and most enjoyable part of the job are one in the same, it is helping clients and their families be able to keep the clients dying wish to die at home. It is a rewarding but at the same time it is hard as well, because you really get to know the client and their family.

I have worked with several rehab agencies, and Champlain Rehab is the best fit for me.  My experience and expertise are respected, and colleagues (other therapists, admin support and management) are stellar.  Very supportive environment when I have questions, concerns or input.  I set my own part-time schedule and caseload, and receive much gratification from my client visits.  I am challenged and appreciated -- professionally and personally.   It's a privilege to be part of a team that provides top quality compassionate care.  
Being an independent contractor is good for me, however, a real drawback is the lack of benefits (eg. health / dental), which would be offered in a regular employment setting.

The best part of working at VHA is the satisfaction of self accomplishment as a professional---being able to deliver the best quality of services and care to client and community.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Stress comes when unexpected circumstances occurs like change of schedule because you are needed for the job.

It's a very pleasant environment where respect and diversity of individuals work together for the common good of the company

Busy and fulfilling. Time flies when you work but always end the end shift with a happy heart and mind.
