Where do I even begin...
The shop is the filthiest I've ever seen.

They grind Tungsten carbide on a wide open bench grinder, with minimal dust collection. So there is Tungsten carbide dust all over every surface in the shop, and you will be constantly breathing that carcinogen in.

They use the cheapest coolant. Buy the cheapest cow hide gloves, which absorb the dirty coolant. Then complain about how many pairs of gloves you use.

The machines are very poorly maintained.
Breakdowns are a common occurrence. So in the event of that, you will likely be sent to grind carbide ALL DAY, possibly ALL WEEK till it's fixed.

While most of the guys in the shop are great. They will do very little to help you learn. They basically just hire anybody, say they'll train you, but then throw you to the wolves.

"Sink or swim" that's how they like to put it.

They veiw everyone as replaceable, so don't ever expect to be appreciated and don't complain about any of the problems.

If you do they'll just shun you, and label you a whiner.
Or force you to grind tungsten carbide with nothing but a paper dust mask for DAYS or WEEKS. Till you get fed up enough and quit.

Very little room for growth in the company. Unless you're related to, or are a long time personal friend of the owners.

It's mostly just mindless labor

It's a very noisy and dirty place to work 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Repetitive mindless labour. With three shorts breaks during the day. In and out in 8 hours

I came in and cut steel all night rocking out to 107.5 Dave fm. No complaints. Good breaks. Good lunch. Pleasant coworkers. I did get a write up for cutting 6 parts to an incorrect length. I figure 6 of 27,000 was pretty darn good. But one guy begged to differ and it cost me my bonus that week 

The company is a good one, working culture is not bad, but the pay is too low related to the job. The job is physically demanded and tough, the working environment is messy and dirt. The job flow design needs to be improved in efficiency. New staff comes for training and left in 1-2 shift. That is why this company is hiring in ongoing base. 

The management at Valley Blades Limited lacks professionalism and integrity. They have a disturbing habit of terminating employees without any valid reason. This irresponsible behavior shows a complete disregard for the welfare of their workforce. I strongly advise against working for this company."

At one time Valley blades was a great company to work for but unfortunately ownership has changed over to the Next Generation. They have different thinking then the past and that will stop them from going forward

the job and work as a whole is reasonable with both physical and mental requirements and overall attitude between colleague interaction as good but certain management personal are less so.

greatest job ive ever had, loved it there, highest respects for valley blades,  showed me respect and admiration from the moment i started,  always positive, always understanding

The owner watches the camera 24/7 and you had a slow day they let you go, once they brought in this great attendance bonus they started firing people left, right and center

It's a very fast-paced job. physically demanding.  decent pay and everyone is really easy to get along with. Good management and great employee's
