I can't figure out if the good and bad level each other out. 
Hardest part of the job is balancing all the different roles you have to take on. The most enjoyable is the bonds you form with the residents you care for. 

Pro:
They will give you as much training as you feel you need
The pay is good
A casual position gives you decent flexibility 
There's a good chance you will end up with a fantastic team of coworkers

Con:
Constantly understaffed
Poor communication from management 
High workload, particularly for CCAs
Expectations from management can be a little unrealistic at times


What is the best part of working at the company?
The actual one on one interaction I had with the residents. I tried to make their day to day living a little bit better for them each day.

Management, Com ng to work and realizing that you would be a parking short.

Stressful last Ke walking on egg shells. It was only this way during the last 3 years I worked

Very fast paced and busy. At least it was for me

Amazing co workers , kitchen staff, housekeeping staff all interact with one another. 
Laid back atmosphere

Always short staffed, poor communication with office and staff on floor

Normally quiet friendly and willing to help  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Personal care , breakfast , toileting , break then lunch and more toileting.. laundry out away and linen out for next day

Yes it's true, I was told I spent too much time helping the residents.  I was reprimanded for being too nice.  My heart broke that day.  I love working, helping our seniors.  But the 6-8 minutes you are given to get one resident ready in the morning, is ridiculous.  This is not a care facility, it is an assembly line. So much to say. I have seen to many workers just not give a dang. there are quite a few that are way to rough and mean to the residents. Makes me sick.

Longtime co workers are what keep me and my benefits 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Staff shortage. , not much OT except for extreme cases: Lack of structure and true compassion 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Culture is well diverse but teamwork is lacking 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Exhausting, run off one’s feet and still no time to always complete all tasks required

Work load is insaine, to much for one person to accomplish.
Then get in "trouble" when work orders are not completed.
Vvv is broke due to legal reasons and in turn make you broke as well. 
Gossip is out of control (do is most companies) more so hear, never seen the likes.
Company can't keep people.

The job itself isn't too bad, and most of the staff is great. The real issue comes from the changes by management and the increasing work load and role expansion for all workers - RN right to the LTCAs. More responsibility is consistently being added with zero adjustment to compensation. 

Management don’t care about their staff and you always have to watch your back.
Most shifts are short staffed, so you are working to look after 16 residents by yourself or with someone who is unqualified to help you. 
The workload is unbearable, there is no time for resident focus it’s all task focused and you’re lucky to get your full breaks

When you start at Valley view villa they give you a package and within that package there is a an overview for each shift on each floor that really helps you when you start, helps you not feel as lost and confused. Everyone is very helpful and cooperative. I have been there since August and do not have one complaint.

Terrible management that if they do not like you will try and have you make mistakes to get you in trouble. It's a union shop management is not so if you can take the BS then the pay is good . Only good part about the job was the residents and most of your coworkers
