You would arrive at work an hour before the branch opened  and start to balance all the machines and do daily recording sheets to make sure the branch was balanced, 
- Help members with various transactions, and find solutions to any of the problems, always putting the members first.
- I learned so much about the financial industry, sales skills, people skills, and how to become a very effective employee.
- management was very helpful always telling you ways to improve and would have monthly meetings to discuss goals.

-hardest part of the job was being under staffed and trying to deliver a hire standard to our members which was not possible at that point in time.
-most enjoyable part of the job was being able to solve peoples financial difficulties and learning new skills to better help someone. 
-being able to offer some of the best service and being rewarded with awards and bonuses.

The stress is high as you are required to achieve the goals you are given.  If you do not achieve them all or exceed, you don't get a bonus at the end of the year anymore; whereas in previous years, if you were close to your goals, you would recieve something to recognize the goals you did achieve.  The manager at my branch was not supportive, or helpful, or assisted your learning or advancement.  The most enjoyable part of my job was the customers, helping them to achieve their financial goals, and giving the best advice customized to them and their retirement.  I was also lucky enough to have amazing co-workers to assist me with any questions or assistance I needed concerning my job.  Without them, I would not have been as successful as I was.

I would recommend this job to any student who enjoys working with kids and is in high school. For the majority of the time, you will go to an event somewhere in the Okanagan and be the child entertainment tent. You will host various activities like face painting giant Jenga ( the main event is face painting). some events are very chill and you get to hang out with your crew outside in the summer and hang out with a couple of kids. Some days are crazy (Kelowna block party, Canada Day), and will be very draining and tiring. All of the staff from the valley first are very friendly and the people were great to work with.

Valley First has ventured into a partnership with other Credit Unions which has caused centralization of many of the departments.

Over the last couple year, company culture has started to turn sour. In an attempt to be a bank they are pushing for numbers while offering no incentive. It may work out in a couple of years but look else where for the short term.

A large percentage of the staff are great, but the job it self has one set of goals on paper and another set of demands in reality.

The ladies had great knowledge of the insurance business from ICBC to Personal Lines.  Knowledge was shared for personal growth and team man ship .
The ladies share light hearted moments with one another as well life, which isn't always that easy.

daily duties included opening all personal and business accounts, daily reports, and assisting with members financial needs. I enjoyed all the staff there and the managment was very helpfull with any questions or concerns. Best part of my job was the diversity and the unlimited learning oppertunities.

Always short staffed.  Not a positive environment, many unhappy employees.  Management says that have open door policy but they really don’t.  Management seems more concerned in their own ambitions to move up in company than they do managing people.

Great company to work for. Senior management are engaged in the success of the organization and the success of their employees.
A fast paced environment where change is a constant and helping their employees to progress through change is their passion.
