I have been trying very hard to get the job at Vendasta and why not? It has a mesmerising culture, reputation and brand.
I finally got the job at Vendasta after a few rounds of tough interviews. Yes, it is tough to get in.
I was feeling proud to join Vendasta. People were feeling jealous of me.
There are many great things about Vendasta but unfortunately, Vendasta is not as good as it looks and sounds. DO NOT be mesmerised by their videos on Instagram and youtube. There are a few good points about Vendasta.

Let me give my honest review.

Positive points:
It has a very strong reputation in the industry
You will be working with some of the smartest people and there is a lot to learn from everyone
Amazing infrastructure. It gives a stunning 360 degree view of the Saskatoon. 
I was in sales and the pay is really good. The commission structure is way above the industry standard. You can make a ton of money.
Everything is well-documented. There is nothing you can not know
The podcast and learning resources are very powerful and engaging. The online learning tools are excellent and way above the standard.
A huge team of 500+ people
Highly advanced and sophisticated software and tools that makes your work fast and efficient
Vendasta is offering many world-class products and services. They are sellable and are in need.
There is a lot of scope for advancement. It's called 'one company many careers'. If you want to change the role after some time, there is a wider choice to move into.
The company is growing by leaps and bounds. It has a huge potential and a bright future
They give a lot of benefits you will probably get at most of the places. I have used them and I appreciate their gesture.
The CEO and the directors will warmly welcome you with a lunch and interact with you in the first week of your joining.
Free lunch and drink every Friday. Almost half of the food is free in the canteen everyday and other food is at lower rates. Unlimited free soft drinks, coffee and refreshment.


Negative points
You can not trust anyone. People gossip a lot and you will never know who is with you and against you.
They have a creepy way to know you. They rely on their assumption and others' feedback rather than talking to you. Most of the time, they are wrong and they don't want to admit. There is too much of backbiting and the management loves doing it.
The seniors are too lazy and irresponsible. If you are in a junior position, you will always be the victim of the crime that your seniors would commit
The leadership and senior managers are morally corrupted and never bother to help you
They would always say they have a positive culture and you can share what you think and feel easily. Do not believe in it because you will become their number one enemy if you share an honest feedback.
They have a stupid culture department who are supposed to create a positive culture but instead they would play dirty politics and stab at your back.
The managers and colleagues are always keeping you under stress for no valid reason. It's just they enjoy doing it. The concept of teamwork is only a phrase. You will be ridiculed and demotivated in front of your team members.
As I was in sales, the salary is excellent but they will make your path difficult. They will change the target as soon as you get closer to the target for the month.
There is a leadership development team and god knows what they are doing because almost all middle-level and junior-level employees are always unhappy with their management. You will not get adequate support when you need.
The team-leaders will not tell you what to do and ask you to figure out but they expect you to do it correctly. If you make any mistake, they will call you dumb and they impolitely tell you how to do things correctly.
I have seen them treat some of their best talents poorly.
The training resources are good but the training team is extremely unhelpful, unkind and doesn't care for you at all. They are demoralising and discouraging group of people. I have seen people feeling stuck, stressed and confused during the training. They ask for your feedback but they want to know only positive feedback.
They care less about how good you are and how good work you have done so far. They will make you feel like a loser whenever they get a chance.

DO NOT get impressed with their shiny videos and pictures. They glow and glorify to hide the dark truth of their disgusting culture.

There are some good points too. Read my positive points as well. Your experience might be different than me. If the company cares more for their employees at all levels, Vendasta can be a wonderful place to work.

During my short time at Vendasta, there were many instances that made me realize this wasn't a great place to work. They oversell themselves as a company that revels in team-bonding and life-work balance. However, as my colleagues expressed working almost double their hours to stay on top of day-to-day work, with no help from upper management to help with more incoming and overbearing work, it became difficult to root for the company. I went through a restructure that I was not informed of previous to being hired. My role as a "Marketing Strategist" was changed to "Account Coordinator" without being notified (which is against labour standards, but they didn't even have me talk to HR or sign any forms for this). My training for this position was cut short after a month, while my duties that I had been trained for changed suddenly - while I was told it would take 5-6 months to train for my position. I asked to be moved to a department that desperately needed more help, and I was told that they would love to have me, but any changes wouldn't happen for a month or longer. It was an overall great experience meeting the people that worked there, however, the expectations and workload don't match the salary or vision they try selling you from the start. Also, good luck getting any sort of raise if you're not an executive - the poor starting wage is the best you'll get unless you fight tooth and nail for something better. Good stepping-stone company, but look elsewhere if you already have experience.

If you like micromanagement, high stress, and mediocre pay, Vendasta is a great company.

The average "cycle" (3-5 months):
- Sell a large client on features we don't have
- Spend months focusing on that client
- Discover a "fire" and pivot entire divisions to put it out
- Neglect the large client until they become a "fire" threatening to churn
- Rinse and repeat

At the start of the year, the company will say "This is the year of great customer experience", but then build new features while the core system is janky and borderline unusable. This happens every year.

Toxic behavior is rewarded as long as it brings results. If you have mental health issues, please take this seriously. Vendasta is behind almost every other tech company in the prairies when it comes to supporting employees. Your mental health is likely to suffer.

You have to sing in front of the whole company on your first Friday. In general, only the leadership team likes this. It's hazing, which speaks to the culture in general. Every new employee is warned about this their first week... if you have to warn new employees about this, that should be a red flag.

The company tries to do too much. Burnout is common, and the software is of low quality.

It's not all negatives. The coworkers are in general great, and the work is challenging. The free food was great when we could have it too.

I moved from another province for an opportunity to work at Vendasta. Even though I knew very little about the work environment and company culture, I decided to take a risk, and I can honestly say that it was the best decision I could have made. Vendasta has developed an inclusive, energetic, fun and challenging ecosystem for its employees to work, create and collaborate with each other. 
If you are agile in adapting to new situations and thrive in fast-passed work environments, then Vendasta is the place for you. Self development and career growth are also deeply rooted within the company's culture. The management team will work with you to help find the best and most rewarding career path for you within the company. All things considered, Vendasta offers competitive salary and lots of perks like discounts, free food, remote work flexibility, and more.

Working at Vendasta has provided me with the opportunity to work with multiple enterprise partners which allows me to work with our various internal R&D teams. Collaboration is encouraged and has provided with the teams to work together to the betterment of the organization and our Partners (clients). Management at all levels are aware of the work that is progressing and available to help when needed. The S-team recognizes the hard work that goes into keeping our partners engaged and happy.
The culture is also important and all employees are encouraged to participate in any social event that they feel comfortable attending. 
During the pandemic everyone was encouraged to stay home but if living arrangements weren't ideal employees were allowed to continue working in the office with the necessary precautions being taken. Now that things have opened up, employees are being encouraged to return to the office but no one is being forced to as Vendasta recognized that employees were productive both working from home and the office.

Pros
- Tons of learning opportunities to expand your skillset.
- Opportunities to take on tasks that help you refine your abilities: great for professional growth.
- One of the nicest offices in Saskatoon! High ceilings, comfy workstations, and the freedom to personalize your desk however you like really makes it feel like your own space.
- The people are seriously amazing. Everyone is friendly, supportive, and always open to sharing their knowledge.
- Affordable meals with a rotating menu, and free breakfast every day. This genuinely makes a difference. It’s easier to start your day focused and fueled up without worrying about packing food.
- So many fun ways to connect with coworkers: happy hours, pool, ping pong, foosball, Ideas on Tap, and other external events. The work environment is a huge win for me. At other jobs, it’s easy to just clock in and out, but here they make it easy to connect. Showing up to events means you’ll run into new and familiar faces, and people are genuinely welcoming and easy to chat with.

Cons

- Not a con for me personally, but the fast-paced environment might not be for everyone. Things move quickly and priorities can shift, which sometimes means hitting pause on other projects you'd rather work on.

A typical day moves quickly with a mix of planning, collaboration, and execution. I work closely with product, sales, and success teams to support AI launches. I’ve learned how to build clear messaging and move fast without losing quality. Management is approachable and trusts the team to make decisions. The culture is open, focused, and partner-first. The hardest part is keeping pace with shifting priorities, but that also keeps things interesting. The most enjoyable part is seeing your work ship and make an impact with real customers.

I'll start this off by saying this is the best company I've ever worked for... Management always makes you feel valued and appreciated, all of my colleagues are fantastic! Whenever I go up to someone with a question it's never "what now?" and always "how can I help" regardless of their department or how high up they are on the org chart.

The culture is amazing, from the free beer, wine and coolers for the team on Fridays to numerous special events like our annual Party in the Park make it really feel like working at Vendasta feel like more than "just a job."

The company's mission is something I can truly get behind as well: "the democratization of technology for local businesses worldwide." I feel like I'm helping accomplish something great each and every day.

My time so far at Vendasta has been wonderful! It is really a stark difference compared to my previous employment as my new team is collaborative, enjoyable, and extremely supportive.  They are dedicated to growth as many people work in multiple areas of the company, and they encourage personal and professional growth too!  The company is growing and growing quickly so they are constantly adjusting and readjusting.  It's exciting, and challenging work, and the people are super great!  They take constructive criticism well and are look for ways to improve their employees' experiences.  My area revamped their training because the old way didn't work, and the new way is much better!

This company is not trustworthy. They do not practice what they preach about their culture. Many of their leaders are young with big titles and little experience (cost saving here). If you come in with experience, be careful as you can be fired for threatening the less experienced people there with your good work. Do not leave a stable job for this one for the promise that your hard work will pay off (it won't). Their company goal is to continuously fire bottom-ranking performers. If you love a toxic culture and are willing to throw people under the bus to get ahead. Play the game, get in the 'cool kids' & you'll thrive at Vendasta.
