I learned a technical and management side at Victaulic. The company likes and promotes hard workers and self-motivators who want to help the company succeed. However, the company still has many connections to old school mentalities. All upper management decisions are made by sales people, could use an injection of operations and structure. Two tiered system between sales people and the rest of the workforce. Great benefits included though.

Manage all Alberta water and wastewater treatment plant, lift station, pump station and infrastructure accounts, developing multi-market business with owners, engineering firms and contractors while supporting distribution channels. Continuously improve engineer and owner specifications, identify and convert major construction, expansion and retrofit project opportunities and provide product training and oversee installation to meet engineer specifications

It was a great opportunity to get some extra job experience, work with great people  and make some money with little stress.

Although as far as a long term career is concerned i’d look elsewhere, the pay is below B.C.’s living wage even with the end of year bonus and giveaways Victaulic has. 

There is also little opportunity for advancement so don’t expect any substantial wage increases unless the company is forced to.

I started very low in pay but the work was of a account manager. People are nice but they don't pay fairly.  Also, they were always asking me to donate money to one cause or another. Their managers were unfair. Some were given more accounts than others and some were favored for promotions without posting jobs. The parties were fun and there was always something for every holiday. 

Working on a CNC machine to prepare core for the foundry details. It was a place more advanced beyond my expectation. People working at this factory were very qualified ones and the quality was the main issue of the production. the job wasn't very easy because it was a very hot environment.

Very nice place to work for. GM was always after the benefit of the employees. Offered me a job in Purchasing but I was not interested in working in other departments other than Accounting.

Enjoyed working with interactive people.
The slow pace movement with high demand

Learning atmosphere that is needed for new people joining warehouse management.

Old style culture and very clique oriented. Tough product to sell because of overseas knock offs at 1/2 the cost. Other new ways of joining pipe that are much cheaper and efficient makes the sales very tough

They have no respect for your personal life.  They will expect you to work all the time including evenings and weekends.  Management is harsh and underqualified.

From day 1 I felt like I was a part of the team! I was in good hands with my trainer and never felt left in the dark. Victaulic has a super friendly and welcoming work environment.
