Be careful if hired to work in this company !
Was hired for a management position but did not even had proper training and orientation. Hotel was run without a General manager and management from Gain was in charge. The organizational structure of the villa is disorganized. Management of GAIN group interferes with the proper functioning of the resort where they have no proper standards. You don't really feel safe working there as you can be terminated at any time. They will find any kind of reason for this.
You do not really know who is doing what at the resort especially when management from GAIN tries to control most of resources and tools needed for the proper daily operations. No leadership at all starting from the top management.

From the moment I joined the Villa Eyrie team, I was welcomed with open arms by a supportive and passionate group of individuals who truly care about their employees and guests. The atmosphere is vibrant and uplifting, making it easy to stay motivated and engaged. The management genuinely values feedback and encourages professional development. Regular team-building activities and training sessions not only enhance our skills but also foster a sense of camaraderie.
The resort prides itself on its commitment to excellence, which is reflected in both its service and its staff. There’s a strong emphasis on teamwork, and I love being part of a group that collaborates to create unforgettable experiences for our guests. The diversity of the teams bring a unique blend of ideas and perspectives that enrich our workplace culture.

Beautiful location and high wages - that's about it.  They offer advancement (which is easy to achieve given the insanely high staff turnover rates) however even once you have advanced to higher positions there is still no job security.  
If you are one of the lucky ones that survive seasonal layoffs they will make you feel trapped with a high wage.
Extremely stressful work environment - consistently understaffed.
After seasonal layoffs staff members were told "you should feel lucky you still have a job but you now have to work harder."  - what a joke.  It was already a difficult place to work.

My advice is not to work for this company for at least another 5 years until they understand a hospitality business model.  The owner does not understand hospitality and wants to run this hotel like a car dealership.

Upper management/owners are a joke - a boys club.

This is the most challenging place I have ever worked. They do not treat their staff with respect and fairness. You better brush up on your HR knowledge and make sure you know your rights. 
They ask you to lead your department but also micromanage you at the same time. They will have high expectations of you (which is totally fair) but they will keep your department understaffed so that it is impossible for you to meet their expectations. 
Everything they do is based on the bottom dollar and they will sacrifice you without blinking an eye. If you want to work somewhere that will probably end your passion for this industry this is the place to do it! 
Also I would question the positive reviews, I personally do not know any of my team that felt positive about this place. 

It took a bit of time to land the job here, but well worth the wait. The Powers that Be have built a strong group of people dedicated to the highest quality of service for their clientele, and it shows daily. Being someone from an extensive Hospitality background it's a pleasure to be able to work in an environment that recognizes both your effort and your knowledge, not to mention being around people that are and feel the same way. "Cancers" are in every workplace, but the Villa Eyrie makes a pointed effort to remove these hindrances. In other words, the Villa Eyrie weeds out the unproductive or unnecessary very quickly. The work environment is fast paced, the stress levels can get high, and the job is demanding... but that's this Industry.

HR hires and fires people for jobs that HR knows nothing about. Half the time no one knows who to report to. When people get let go, they don't know why or who let them go. Conflicting information is disseminated from different supervisors. Who may or may not be managers, no one seems sure. There is no consistent customer care, no consistent company ethos. There is no one in charge who actually knows how to do customer service OR even run a hotel!! People are getting fired frequently but not because of lack of work, no reasons given, no reasons could be as the employees were a good and loyal workers and there had never been issues. No management loyalty to or appreciation of staff. 

There was a lot to learn about Guest Services when I first started, but I caught on and started to get the hang of things fairly quickly! Management and co workers were excellent, I left for a couple of reasons, mostly the long commute (it got up to 2 hours one way sometimes, with traffic) and some of the guests were very demanding, but this can be said in any guest services roll. Overall it was a good learning experience, despite only working there about 4 months.

After some negative people left in 2019 and 2020 it is a great place and i love what i do.  Like all other Hotels we also had a lot of challenges in 2020 and this year, but I'm happy to say our team got thru them really well. Focus is on clients and great quality in every department. It is a very busy place in the summer and busy the rest of the year so it feels like we always work hard. But it has been fun and seeing the restaurant and the hotel getting busier and busier is nice to see.  I advanced thru a few positions and hope there will be more. 

You’re told they like you and want to keep you around for the long term, and will not hesitate to do a complete 180 with little to no communication. HR is non-existent, upper management interferes with day to day functions, and the place is run by people with expertise in car dealerships. They will lay you off without any explanation and are secretive with staff. There is no transparency or standards set in place for management - they do whatever they like. If you are looking to work at a luxury/boutique resort, save yourself a lot of time and stress by not applying here.

The Villa does not know what to do with itself, and keeps trying new things, but has not clued in how to do the basics of being a resort. Without long term goals and quality management the resort continues to flounder and frustrate the staff who see problems continue unchanged.
