I’ve been working here for a while. I am a very people person so I enjoyed working here as a personal support worker/ CCA. I also like driving so I liked this job. Driving client to client you get to experience a lot
of different personalities and meet a-lot of different people. Great for me as nursing student. I set my schedule around school and personal events. Definitely opportunities to work your way up depending on your qualifications and work ethic. Flexible scheduling. You get what you ask for. I would pick exactly the days I wanted to work and would be able to work those days. Took at least a good month to get a steady flow in my schedule, because I needed training, especially for higher need’s clients. Once I got into a good flow, my schedule looked more consistent. I also had the opportunity to incorporate any special skills I had to offer and be paid for that. Like music therapy, meal preps if you’re skilled in the kitchen, or anything special you have to offer clients. Someone had a therapy animal. I saved A LOT on taxes as a subcontractor.  I was also totally covered as a subcontractor and didn’t need to pay anything for liability insurance. I genuinely went to work and got paid exactly what I worked.

I felt like part of the team and like my ideas and opinions mattered right from the start.
The company focuses a lot on communication and making sure that people know who to contact and how to get problems solved quickly or questions answered. And they are open to staff input for improvement and actually used my suggestions!
The pay is nice and high, which is good, so that I don’t have to take on an extra job.
The ins and outs of being a sub-contracted staff worried me a little at first, but at the second on-boarding it was all explained in simple terms, plus there are workshops every spring to guide the staff through doing their taxes.
Really awesome office staff as well!

This workplace is very poorly managed. Management tends to be biased and unprofessional, and communication is consistently lacking yet they expect staff to be constantly available. The owner is unresponsive and unreliable, often ignoring calls or messages, and payroll is frequently delayed by several days without any notice or explanation. Overall, it’s a frustrating and toxic work environment. The hours are also absolutely ridiculous, you will have to work an hour on and an hour off, leaving absolutely no work life balance. And when you do book time off and have time to relax, they BEG you to work. Then, you make one mistake and they fire you without even a verbal warning. Overall a terrible workplace that is extremely selfish and demanding.

Good work for CCA/PSW with flexible hours. Contractor work with this private company, you make your own hours! From 1 hour shifts to a full day of clients. Lots of drive time, vehicle required. Bonus: Gas, vehicle repairs & phone bill all claimable at tax time. Keep your receipts! 

Phone needed to log in/out of workers app & google maps. Phone charger in vehicle recommended. Basic CCA/PSW Knowledge & TLR HIGHLY recommended. 

Independent work style. Basic training provided on the go. Good for people open to independent & quick work style. 

Currently a student so I enjoy being able to work and choose when I work. We get lots of open shifts that we can pick up whenever. Driving is a lot but it is tolerable because Saskatoon is a small city. Be prepared to keep all your gas receipts in order to claim them during tax season. Sometimes you have to wait for 30-1 hour for the next client, because they choose their own time. You work by yourself, but colleages and management are there for you. Very enjoyable work!!!

Was very excited to work for this company but that didn't last long. They led me to believe I was going to get lots of hours which didn't happen. There's zero to no training, calling last minute for a 1 hour shift. Waisted gas on a few trips for a canceled appointment and didn't get paid for it. When they did let me go to little to reason why they text me and couldn't even call me. Asked what was the reason so I could work and learn from my mistakes to not even a reply back. Definitely not worth your time working for this company. 

DOES NOT PAY ON TIME no explanation on why pay is late just dead air from the owner no raises and benefits are a cost to you. A lot of backstabbing owner goes on hearsay without written/audio  proof. A lot of driving back and forth across the city. Client cancels when you get there you do not get paid. HR person has zero experience with HR duties. Regardless of the weather you have to go to the client.

I am currently working with  the company as a Continuing Care Aide. I have 4 children and two dogs to look after and working seemed impossible until I found Village Rose. They offered flexible hours, reasonable pay, benefits, and friendly staffing. The manager is the best! She is very accommodating, understanding, and helpful. It’s been wonderful to be part of the team:)

When I work there it was great time with the staff and the clients. The managers was super friendly was like family

Lost a lot of really good team members from workplace bullying. Very little support. Does NOT PAY ON TIME. There is so much room for improvment but always falls short. Promises the world and delivers a dumptruck.
