Personally, I loved working at Walker.  It's a company that cares and contributes to many communities.  It's an innovative and forward-thinking company.  I found the culture to be fantastic and loved that employees were invited to become more involved (social committee , emergency response team, etc).  I found Walker's message and stress for safety for all to be impressive and enjoyed the training.  
Almost everyone I worked with directly was a team player who respected their co-workers & their individualities.  They were helpful, friendly and had a great sense of humor which helped to keep stress levels down a bit.  Any management that I dealt with was approachable, made employees feel valued and encouraged individual success.  The CEO is genuine and caring.  
My workload was acceptable and not very overwhelming. It could be challenging at times, but educating.  I learned so much!  
The benefits are very good and employees get 2 paid volunteer days/yr which encourages community involvement (even if it's not your local community).  
No company is perfect, not even Walker Ind., but if you go to work ready to be a team contributor with a positive mindset, get along with and respect all your co-workers at any level, any job is what you make it.  
I hope to return here in the future.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Job security,  good benefits and fair pay. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Trying to keep machinery properly maintained without proper tools or quality parts. Very incompetent CEO with no concept of budget requirement or capex.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Generally good but alot of nepotism. Poor management and promotion practices. Owners of company are not hands on. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Long hours hard to find managers when needed.  Dusty dirty environments.

a typical day at work consists of many things which is great because very few people enjoy doing the same thing everyday. this is a great company to work for to learn so many different types of work. in many different fields. I would recommend this compny to anyone as I love my job and am just looking for something that is a little closer to home and has more of a set schedule as I have a young family.

Being outdoors and working with a crew that actually teaches you

Didn't find anything stressful except it being my first day

Good environment friendly people

Good days go buy quickly in a friendly work environment when people work together towards the same goal.

My last day of work, after giving my 2 weeks notice of quitting.

Having to deal with ignorant, discriminating, and hateful management

If you play hockey, are a tattletale and a hate monger , you’ll be accepted

Being to by management that everything I do, is unsatisfactory, but could do the job better than one of the managements” buttmonkies

Perks were good. And pay was good as well

The management was very hard to work for and promoted the yes men and not the people that knew what they were doing

Work environment among staff was ok but very poisonous among supervisor's 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Some times physical but most days in a piece of heavy equipment

Working with Walker in Caledon had its ups and downs. The biggest challenge was not being able to truly advance, all operators are equal pay even though their production reports proves the value of a hard working operator. Which in turn makes you feel as though you should only put the effort that the “worst” does. The co workers and supervisor were fantastic, but seemed to feel the same way. But they do a great job with training, making you feel safe, and managers listen to your input.

Worked as front reception and ap/ar assistant on a 6 month contract for their busy summer season. It was super busy the entire time I was there. They hit the ground running in the spring and don’t slow down until the fall but everyone works together as a team and the work always gets done!!

Walker stood out to me because of what I learned about their culture and values as an organization. After being employed for almost 10 years, they continue to 'practice what they preach'. I have always been treated with respect, given flexibility when needed, and supported with a strong focus on personal well-being. It's a positive, people-first culture that makes coming to work rewarding.

I am always proud to say I work at Walker.

At Walker, Everyone is so welcoming, friendly and easy to go and talk to.  Most enjoyable part of my work is to collaborate with people and share ideas in a professional yet very friendly setting. No Judgements from people, everyone loves their job.
 Work life balance is superb, The management is top notch, love everything about walker especially the people.
