When I first started working there, it was very overwhelming. I was trained on the fries first. Thank god I had experience doing the same thing at Pizza Pizza. But it was very overwhelming because I started work aroung Halloween time and that specific restaurant gets FREAKING busy during halloween due to a theme park RIGHT BESIDE! Also, one supervisor was criticizing my work and it was a disaster for the first two months. But as the store got less busy, I had the opportunity to try different positions (fries, grill, dishwashing, drive thru cash collecting, and garbages). It became less annoying and it got easier to bear. The store manager is VERY nice, but watch out for the supervisors. They can be a pain in the rear end, especially is you mess up and you don't realize it. 

Co-workers are amazing. You get along with almost everyone. Some of the folks I didn't get along with well was one was a complete jerk and another one was a 50 year old lady who can't even do her own job properly and constantly teaching me how to do things. Customers can be very nice sometimes. It's not like Mcdonalds where you see rude customers. 

The hardest part of any position is when it gets busy. The manager is on your back constantly telling you to work fast, pointing out mistakes. Also, I feel sorry for the sandwhich makers. They have to memorize the menu and the order of the sandwhiches and salads (mental stress). Thank god I didn't have to do that. Apart from the sandwhich maker, the grill man faces a lot of stress. You are basically the operating system of the restaurant. You are in charge of cooking the patties, chicken, potatoes and a lot of other things. If you're late for your shift, or you call in sick at the last minute. The supervisors are going to have a hard time finding a replacement for you, because not a lot of people are trained on the grill. So if you are on the grill for the lunch shift and the grill man for the dinner shift is late, be prepared to stay there until they show up. That can be a pain in the rear end. The most enjoyable part of the job is collecting cash at the drive thru, because ou are just getting the money, debit or credit card and making the transaction. There is not much to learn in the position. But you do have to do other things if there are no cars in the drive thru. Another easy job is the dishwashing. You are not under stress, you can work at your own pace (but fast movement though)... but your shirt does get dirty and wet due to the splashing of the water. Also, some of the water get on your face too, which can be annoying. After a shift of washing a tub of dishes, you want to go home and take a hot shower! 

As for the discount, it is above average but according to me, is not proper, looking at the kind of work you do and the abundance of food they have. If you are a crew member and you are working on the shift, you can get 50% off. If you are a crew member but you are not in uniform and you are not on your shift, you get 10% off and if you are a manager, you either get the food for free or 75% off I assume. 

My advice would be to once you get a job in a fast food restaurant, work there for a month or two and start looking for a retail sales job in a mall as soon as possible. Or if you can't find one, stay there for 1 year and quit, but make sure you have a backup job ready. If your manager is kind and nice, don't leave them midway in a busy season (summer and fall). Work through the busy period and when its not a busy month, tell your manager you are relocating or going off to study somewhere and thank them for the opportunity and how you learned a lot of things and met some really wonderlful people and leave. Make sure to give a two-week notice though.

°Everyday start by clocking in, plain coffee is free. we also have to quickly clean the place(it's supposed to already be clean but just in case), Few things are taken out of the freezer or fridge, like all the fresh veggies, fruits, bowl of condiments (meant for the burgers). Then you go to your work station: Meat, Food making, Fries, Cashier, Dish washing, Window (Drive thru), or Manager (they did a bit of everything, but mostly drive thru). 
°No matter what station you have, the work will become inevitably repetitive and monotonous, standing up, doing the same thing over and over, also it's incredible the quantity of food we have to waste, it's obviously to keep things fresh for the clients but it's still an enormous amount. Naturally, we're supposed to make certain food in prevision of who will come, but after a certain time limit, we have to throw it away. As surprising as it may sounds, rush hour is the best part of working in fast food, first you do something, and people are communicating a little more, thirdly, you have to do lots of back and forth within the workplace, which is much easier on the legs. In certain case when there are a lot of Drive-thru clients, because we might have a hard time picking up the pace, someone will have to come out, out of the back entrance to go to someone's car to give them their meal(old school style). 
°I have mostly nothing to say against management, they're very kind helpful, and not too harsh on your skills. They do mostly the same things as you, and if you calculate their work hours they work more than anybody. I don't remember there being much drama , and if it happened it got solved quickly. 
°The workplace culture was overall great, most employees, are just busy doing their jobs, and none have time to bother others, when I first started, all of them were very helpful in explaining how to do things, and the rest of the time there was an overall sense of kinship, without trying to I learned about a lot of people's lives , and they all were noble cases. 
° The hardest part of my job, like I said earlier, was doing nothing, no matter how much you do, or how much you clean there will be a time where you are forced to be still, there is only so much one can do. Secondly, quitting the job, as ordinary as the working conditions were, I regret having to quit my job. Wendy's wasn't able to accommodate my school schedule(I was a minor) with my working hours, and while I believe it is not an issue regarding individuals, but more regarding the Corporation itself, l had to do late hours, I even witnessed the closing shift multiple time.
°The best part of the job, were the people itself, and feeling like you did something useful for example cleaning the place and noticing the difference, refilling things..., also I think the specific location I worked at, had overall pleasant clients, they weren't like the caricature of clients we see in media. 

I'm not the type to leave a bad review of anything, as with the old adage of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything". But during my employment with Wendy's, I have always been driven to do my best. I hit the ground running my first day there, as I wanted to prove myself, and prove that there was no mistake made in hiring me in directly as an Assistant Manager.

After a few months, the cracks in the facade started to show. The lack of care for the crew on the floor, the expedience to blame everything and everyone who wasn't wearing a tie. An owner who skimped on Health and Safety requirements, shorted product to save money, and flat out broke some Labour and Safety regulations to avoid losing so much as a dollar.

After 6 months I had to go through three separate channels to receive the pay I was told I would get after three, it took almost 7 months to get my benefits, and had to fight my way through every person possible to get it. There are crew in the store who have been working there for over 3 years, and still making minimum wage. I stuck up for the crew, for standards, and for myself.

Three weeks ago, the owner was still singing my praises, promising new training, and new skills to add to my Wendy's portfolio, and even making comments towards me running my own store, and that we'd talk about it further in February. Since then, I had heard nothing negative, never been written up, or on the receiving end of a "talking to", yet, after a morning shift, the DM and the Owner requested a "sit down" which I expected to be the usual "How are things? Here's some things we'd like to drive towards. etc" that I had gone through with them a few times before. Instead, I was handed a letter informing me that I was terminated and my last day was in a week.

To say I was stunned would be an understatement. I asked why, and the question was shrugged off. I asked again and was told "We just don't need you anymore"...that was it. 7 months of work, over 70 hours volunteered in my own time, plans I put into motion, advancements I made to the entire store, and it was just over with a nonchalant lack of respect. 

Since that happened, my inbox and phone have been flooded with messages from the crew in the store displaying their shock and condolences (like in the title, great crew), and I am back on the job hunt. But I leave this as a warning, not to avoid the place, but to go into it with an informed mind, a wary eye, and a fall back plan. There is so much more I could say, could get into, but there just isn't the space to do so. I will miss my crew, though I walk away with their friendship, and their respect is worth so much more.

Lots of employees, probably 25 at minimum plus managers, you will get to talking during slow periods and make friends. It can be stressful and understaffed, you may bicker with co-workers and even a full kitchen sometimes didn't feel like enough moving parts to get the food out in time. Service Time was the worst part of the job, it is out of your hands how fast you get the food out but they will always complain and make it like you could have prevented it. They expect every customer and car to take 90-120 seconds from when they order to when they leave. It is not possible while trying to also give good service so prepare yourself for being in a bad mood sometimes. Also the customers can be terrible, hangry exists. Don't let it get the best of you, it's not worth the stress. My advice is to not bother worrying about service time or customers attitudes, they won't fire you so long as you are trying. You will get the odd customer that is friendly though so it is not all bad. 50% off food. If you are part time you will most likely get 3-4 hour shifts. Full time is 8-10 hours. Don't even bother giving availability for opens and closes, mid day shifts are much easier, you have a lot more responsibility and cleaning tasks that are almost impossible while closing. Mid day > Opening > Closing. They give unpaid breaks, usually never got a 15 unless working 9+ hours and even then you have to constantly ask them before they let you go. If you open/close you get your break at very stupid times, If you work  730am til 4pm you get your 30 min at 930am, then you have 6-7 hours without another break. 4pm til 1pm you got your break at 6pm sometimes 5:30pm and then would not get another one. Another big con is coming home smelling like grease. No nail polish/jewelry/smartwatches and also you always needed to have your hair pulled back so, that with the heat can cause some pretty bad headaches. They weren't too hard on you about talking to the guests, sometimes you could just ignore them. They let a lot of things slide under the rug as well as a lot of health code violations that they quickly try to make you clean the day before the inspector arrives. God forbid you ever work while the district manager comes around, you will basically be treated like garbage because most of the time they did not follow protocol, you are almost guaranteed to mess up when you need to follow policy you've barely done to a T. Once you work there for a few months most of the tasks become pretty repetitive and almost instinctive. It is like factory work but not as depressing and way more micromanagement. 

Wendy's is a decent place to work at. Wouldn't exactly give it a 5/5. Managers are quick to yell at new employees, regardless of the fact that most are trained by staff who have only worked there for 2 months and are still in their probation period. Some staff are never taught the proper procedure until they've been yelled at by a manager that you've been doing it wrong the whole time and will only then correct you on it. The only benefit you have as an employee is a 50% off meal that is only given to you on the days you're scheduled to work - though this can be different for other locations. As for the employees, It's easy to make friends with other crew members and they're all very helpful people when you ask for help. One problem that has been pointed out before is how awful they are at giving breaks to staff. Opening staff are given their breaks an hour and a half into their 7.5+ hour shifts. And I'm typically given my break within 2 hours of my 8.5 hour shifts and I'm left with about 6 hours of pure work for the rest of my shift. Even though I'm trained on multiple positions, each shift I'm planted in the same spot for 8 hours talking to customers. I find it odd how some staff who work front cash never graduate to learning drive-thru order-taking and older staff are the only ones who are well trained on that position and only scheduled for it. This makes it harder to switch/give away shifts with other staff and only a small handful of crew members and even supervisors are able to cover you during your breaks. It really does not make any sense to not train and schedule staff on drive-thru positions especially since being in a pandemic has made Drive-thru more hectic. At my old job, I was given raises every few months and did not have to do things like clean the washrooms, scrub the floors or do extra cleaning on our down times. We had janitors/designated staff who were trained on those positions, but at Wendy's, it's the whole crew that cleans the entire place. Considering the price of Wendy's food, you would think you would earn raises as often as every few months. Overall, Wendy's is an okay place to work at, you just don't get paid enough for the amount of stuff you have to deal with.

A typical day at work would be separated into two alternating segments. One of them was the hard-working interval, where the restaurant had to keep up with the demands and everyone on the crew worked together to meet these demands as quickly and efficiently as possible; we were such a good team. The other segment would be the more relaxed stage, where although we still had duties, we could carry them out while laughing and talking with each other. The typical day at work was fantastic.

I learned so many things! This being one of my first "real" job, I learned what it was like to work in a restaurant and what it was like to work with others cooperatively. I learned how to manage my time, and multi-task as well as how to problem-solve. This experience has given me various assets that would prove very beneficial in other jobs.

The management and my co-workers were great! Of course, the managers had to do their job to keep the restaurant at top notch and so they could be strict at times, but I understood that this was their business and that I must do my job as an employee to meet their expectations. I'm glad that my managers pushed me because it taught me many lessons. My co-workers are also great; none were mean or pessimistic, but all of them were joyful and I loved being able to work with them. 

The hardest part of the job would be waking up for it. My shifts usually began at 7am and I had to bike there so I had to wake up around 5:45am. Although, I've never missed a shift, I remember it being extremely difficult to wake up sometimes, but once I got there everything was fine.

The most enjoyable part of the job would be the interactions I had with people. Whether taking orders from the front, or the drive-through, I loved talking to people and seeing all the kinds of people out there, and for a weird reason, this really intrigued me. I polished my socializing skills as well as staying in a positive mood and I think that was the best part about my job.

A great place to learn many skills, from costumer service to food safety and what it means to be part of a team. Friendly management and thorough customer care made it easy and fun to work there.
A typical day would begin with setting up positional charts, giving each staff member there goals and duties for the day. Then,I would TTM, which is Talk To Me, go through with each staff member into their position.After the crew was in position I would moniter the sales and tills and do a regular walk through of the store and grounds to ensure customer satisfaction with meals and service and general store cleanliness. before my shift was complete I would change and balance out tills, complete an audit, fill and drop off deposits.
I learned how to handle the money, doing audits and balancing safe and tills, how to treat customers and staff alike. I learned the importance of teamwork and good communication.

The management at Wendys is phenomenal! No matter how tough things got there was good communication lots of help and they really do their best to ensure satisfaction to all guests.

The co workers were fun yet informative, the closeness of working together gave me a lot of friends and help through out the years. My old co workers were a great team to work with and learn from.
The hardest part of working there was it was a fast paced environment and so if we were short staffed it made it hard to be as efficient as we would have been with the missing staff members.
The most enjoyable would be the friendly competition to achieve store goals, the co workers and I really got to get to know each other while working side by side, which made the shifts fun and memorable.

My excitement to start this job was beyond imaginable it was a chance to step my foot in the right path I needed. However the start was too harsh for anyone with a gentle heart could handle.The aggression to new employees is awful, they will bully and harass you for not knowing jobs that they even havn't had taught you as of yet. Constantly being forced to do multiple tasks with no reward but telling you that you never did a good enough job. If one task you were told to focus on they will instantly jump down your throat for not doing this other task they said just now in seconds without warning. There will be co workers who will constantly talked down to you and after doing their bidding you can hear them saying how stupid you are out loud around managers that will turn the other cheek for this special treated person. Speaking up to the harasser will lead to being called defensive and a person who thinks their better. Making any complaint will lead to you potentially getting fire purely on bias for the harasser since they are all buddies after all. I have been told by many customers complaining to me that their food shouldn't take over 10 minutes and hearing them laugh out loud gossip with each other made them tell me that "after this wait I think I will never come here again." I sincerely pray for those who are new potential victims to this company because it's a completely bias industry that not being their best friends and doing your job will just cause you to never have any respect as a individual. Thinking back on it still gives me PTSD of the events there that will probably never leave my memories.

Somehow they managed to get about 20 hours of work out of you during a five hour shift. You’ll be making up for other people who didn’t do their job properly during the day if you’re working in the afternoon or later. That includes doing the entire set of dishes from the morning and everything else restocking everything that wasn’t re-restocked. You’ll have the busiest shift in terms of work and yet be expected to be cleaning while continuing to take orders from multiple angles, including dealing with DoorDash, which is always a giant headache.

I learned how to put up with a lot of sensory assaults, how to mop a floor, while having gastritis from the constant stress put on me and an expectations from my supervisors. The basic problem is they make great money but they make you feel as if you are personally responsible for the number of customers that come through the door that day or that week and somehow it’s not marketing or management fault that they’re not bringing the customers through the door it’s yours so your hours get cut.

I had some genuinely enjoyable times with the original crew that I started with, but the continued plan of purposely getting rid of our long-term staff to have new staff was really hard on the people who did have a good team collaboration. The regional manager said that she wanted a new employee hired every week and while cutting from the long-term employees hours so that tells you how much they value loyalty and dedication.

typical day at wendys, you walk in and you find out where your position is. you count your till make sure its balnces at start of day of 200.00. and you do what you position requires, normally i am on drive through, so i take orders, collect money, seek for customer satisfaction. as well i would be washing all the dishes that get dirty through my shift. i prepare bacon pans as well as assist the front counter cashier with there orders if they are busy and have a line up more than 3 customers so they do not have to waitas long. 
i have learned a lot at wendys, i have learned more about teamwork, how to prepare the sandwiches and salads, i have learnt the till to a tee where i know everythin on it, prices by mind. 
my coworkers are great i have met a lot of great people there. some are even my friends out side of work which is nice. 
management in my view is good at times and horrible at times. i guess it just depends on what manager is working on what days. but for the most part i really dont mind it. 
the hardest part about my job would be trying to get full time. and having them understand that i cannot live off of 20 hours aweek as i do have a just over a year old son.. 
the most enjoyable part of my job is just being about to see smiles on everyones faces, emplyees and customers. 
i try and make everyone happy, that has and always will be a goal in life is just to make atleast one person smile because i have done something right and just knowing i could have made a difference in that persons day.
